    Vent your ANGER HERE!...

OK..here it is..but BEFORE its started..
    Generally I'm:
    1) Granting Mr Chang Moderator full right to exercise his moderation and due action against anyone who violate or defy general forum etiquette and rules. I think this is automatic anyway.
    2) DO NOT go attack or personal on other forumers. I don't want to friend or respect aloof or condescending people either.
    3) DO NOT go political or seditious mode, especially without firm substantiation or evidence..this may get your passport and travel banned. Worse still, USJ forum risk action from somewhere..maybe even Mr Chang hauled up..I do NOT want to see this happen!
    4) No FOUL or BAD Language just to stress your point..just write your experience that angered you. Most understand plain simple English here.

    4pm today.
    Was at Speedmart99 (SM99) Subang SS17 today.
Saw 2 persons wheel out buying 15 big bottles per trolley of cooking oil..certainly borong for commercial purpose.
Its no wonder we common people hardly have anything left to buy for our own domestic purpose. Go see most SM99 at the cooking oil section at anytime..see what's left for you..I know its been selling like hot cakes or there's not enough supply.
I think SM99 should STOP or limit such bulk purchases of essentials.. its NOT BLARDI FAIR! ANGRY!!!!!!!!

Nope, nothing is unfair here. Can't see anything unfair. .

Business proprietors are also entitled to buy subsidized cooking oil in bulk just like everyone else.

Btw, l haven't encountered any stocks problem when buying cooking oil.

Yes..the buyers are not being fair.. IMO! Its these flers who deplete the stocks in a blink of an eye and SM99 stocks come in at certain days as observed.
Subsidy is not the issue here..everyone enjoy the subsidy..save for minority who may prefer the more expensive oil like Canola, Sunflower, Mazola, etc..those got ample stock. I sure like to prefer OLIVE oil if can..but its not native here so its obviously very pricy. My contention is that its been a very very long time that stocks are depleted really fast at SM99 where loads of people are shopping there almost every minute of the day at any branch I've seen. The owners must be millionaires by now as profits are fast and very profitable in bulk sales.
I go to SM99 very often since its convenient (across my place), no need to park 1 mile away like some hypermart, walk up down escalators and que like goats for the slaughter just to check out. AND its so much cheaper in total than other small provision shops..not just oil. Anway..I'm angry everytime the shelves are nearly emptied..good for them, bad for me.

Olive oil is not suitable for our way of cooking, I have tried before.

Put aside the price, I think Mazola corn oil is the best in terms of health consideration and suitability for our Asian cooking..

Coincidently, this thread comes at the right timing...

I thought referee should moderate in an objective and impartial manner without getting personal ??

What will you do, and what can you do when the judge/referee openly declared and admitted he is getting personal on a player.. ? ?

No more Indonesian live-in maids from next year onwards. Indonesian policy, not ours. I'm sure this is one policy among many others to streamline their benefits working here and prevent macam2 exploitation or abuse. Sure!..they have to protect themselves too.
I wonder if many employers with full time live in maids are going to get very upset and how to work around the policy. Its going to be interesting.

Subang/USJ LRT expected to be operational soon..month or 2 from now.

I'm wondering if all those homes within 50meters of the rail line are going to make noise when LRT trains whoosh and whine whenever they pass by. I can only guess its something to be tolerated thereon. I expect to find some anger in some social media sites thereon..I wait and see.
30-50m is really really near some peoples home..especially many "expensive" corner lots..

You are spot on that score..this happen in other countries too..but then the focus is on the consequences of those owners or tenants who want to live on as usual.
Returns of perceived high value is only realized for better or worse ONLY when they sell the house. Higher rental no doubt, but still? what if tenants all move out due to noise..but then this is debatable. Some tolerate, some don't..just my guess.
Anyway..I can get angry when I think rising COL and very high prices of big ticket items like another "house"...Yes, you earn big money from sale of home, but also pay big money for another to own. As for shringgit, I think Malaysians are loosers in currency value. You may have 5 million in the bank..its not the same value as it was in 2000. Your purchasing power have reduced quite substantially over the past 2 decades. Say I have 5 million..I don't think its very big now.
I should have migrated if I got 5 million in 2000 or earlier even better. Just saying. To detractors..each one have different views, different ideas, different perception based on own unique circumstances and forecast of success over there. This is NOT following some trend. Any trend can be coincidental. Sure..if any detractor like to stay here and enjoy life, risk this place going down the longkang..so be it..you're the master of your own future and remaining days.

Lee, in any country (don't take extreme examples like North korea ,etc), inflation is always there and because of inflation, purchasing power will get smaller.

For sure, RM5 million in 2000 was bigger than RM5 millions now but RM5 millions is still VERY BIG now. Put the money in a FD with "miserable" interest rate of 3.5% will generate RM175,000 a year which is RM14,593 a month.

With 14k a month just from interest alone, this is not big enough especially when one reaches retirement age ??

Granted, they are many rich folks who easily possess this "not big enough" money but but but ....they are also many people like me who have to work and work and work for half a century in life just to get closer to this kind of numbers...

Wrong and they're NOT..there's just as many reasons to justify that! Many participants in that gomen are quite happy or enjoy living here to the fullest.

    Maybe should go other places...

Today is a replacement holiday for tomorrow wesak day..

Just went to my favourite blue Jamaica for afternoon coffee. On the way back, dropped by the supermarket to buy some sundries. Saw plenty of cooking oil of all brands, no shortage at all...

Aiya!..I go out one shot to buy a few regular groceries at SM99...not just cooking oil. Guess what?..I buy the small bottle most of the time since my consumption can go a long way.
Anyway, this isn't my point about personal consumption, even if one small bottle can last me a month or 2.
    1) Parking. SM99 I go, easy parking and so damn near to me. Easy to park, load up and go. Same with another branch at USJ1..even easier. Try SS17 branch?..parking IS a problem there.
    2) Other place nearest is one or 2 shops at Taipan where there's almost stock of oil, but everyone knows Taipan parking is difficult at most times of the day except after 10pm. I don't have all day just for this essential grocery chore. What do I have to do?..park quite far away, walk across and buy at Tesco Franchise there.

Again, SM99 is doing extremely well business wise, and coincidentally, their stocks of cooking oil goes out the door extremely fast and shelves nearly empty MOST of the time I happen to be there. THAT'S the problem and its been going on as if we're facing cooking oil supply shortage since 2 years ago, if I count right. My mind is simple..9.5/10 times I go..O.O.Stock of regular bottles. How?..I go elsewhere when I'm out lor..stop by another shop and buy.
Would you believe that branch at USJ8 is doing very very very well..replenished stocks of most essentials are gone in couple of days. Many stuff are depleted or near empty shelves. Even packs of MSG or condiments can be missing. Amazing!
Yup!..I have to look to other branches and I've to drive to the other one at USJ1.
OK lah..I still like to go SM99 whatever the case..

Deputy Home Minister Nur Jazlan Mohamed has denied that travel bans would be imposed on government critics.
