My ex pharmaceutical colleague passed on because he ignored the signs and symptoms of CHF congestive heart failure. He complained of heart burns and consulted a doctor but was not given extensive medical check up. He collapsed in the hotel after sending her daughter to Australia in KLIA from Ipoh.

Ironic....our company was dealing with cardiac drugs and diagnostic of heart blockage in contrast media as in angiogram/angiography.

My brother ignored my plead to have his heart to be reviewed six months back. While still being gainfully reemployed by his company Roche at his age of 62, he would have his medical expenses being covered. He complained of chest pain 3 weeks ago and I told him to check into the hospital immediately.

He was warded and had his angioplasty and two vascular stents inserted. He looked well after the operation but died the following 2 days due to complication of sorts.

The possible medical reasons were ..but unfortunately he died of complications after transferred from CCU to normal ward. Probable causes of patients died from successful vascular stents are about 1% to 5% due to ventricular failures, myocardial infarction, thrombosis. And risks from operation procedures even in "minor like X ray, IV lines surgical incisions, catheters from bacterial contamination which is known as Sepsis or septic shock leads to fatal sudden endings.

IMHO, it could be avoided if he is being checked into IJN where patients were closely monitored as all are heart patients in that Insitut Jantung Malaysia Hospital.

Yours truly also had first hand experience being heart attacked. Had 90% blockage from one valve due to kretek smoking over the years and 90% blockage due to thrombosis (blood clot) after surfing the net over extended period. Cleared the blockage via angioplasty but was advised by doctor to have vascular stents inserted as the possibilities of the walls collapsed again due to my die hard habit of not stopping smoking. My reply to the doc was " My life is in your hand. do what you think best if you do not want me to come back to trouble you again with another balloon experience or haunt you as a ghost.".

Confession : - The doctor was angry why I was admitted until it was so severe and did not check in where i was having the symptoms of cardiac failures. My condition was so critical that I was given double dose of morphine to stabilize the condition at Selayang Hospital before I was transferred to IJN. And had to wait for 3 days before the angiogram can be proceeded.

Reasons : - Guess God did not wanna me as I could be throwing banana parties in Heaven and Satan dun wanna me as I would be serving healthy and tasty foodies in Hell. So, i am stuck on earth being Human Being of Mean Olde Chef cooking foodies and stories.

( Just remember folks - do not attempt this stunt at home - I was singing ABBA 's Take A Chance where I was lucky to be alive with 1 % Bee Gees's of Staying Alive. )

Really.. I'm above 50. I like seafood and occasionally whacked some ckt. I enjoy most fermented fruit juices like wine, champagne, sake, etc. If you read my post (#35) in the sentinel memorial thread, I am in the lowest risk group of cardiovascular disease.

Like it or not, the most dominant factor is genes. Some are more susceptible to certain illness, some are not.

Nice to have you back, zing. Another good evidence that the GOOD don't die young..

I deem "the good die young" is just a passing remark and entirely up to anyone whatever they like to believe. Opinions differ for reasons one knows best.
If like to quote numerous and countless people dying young..simple..just take countless young soldiers (even kids) who die young in some war over many centuries..or terrorists with a price on their head who get hunted and killed eventually..these kind of terrorists are presumed as people up to no good and a danger to some civilization.
For me I think that adage or saying is more of a respectful tribute to someone we may know and wish their demise wasn't so sudden or soon.

Yes, you are right also...and this including the loved ones of those who blow innocent people into pieces. Their loved ones will always think these people who took away other innocent lifes are the "good ones who died young"...

Can you enlighten me WHO are those "loved ones"? I'm very blur as to who exactly you're referring to. In my mind there's only one set of loved ones who are my family members. Relatives or those outside my circle are not included in my books...

Genes is one of the x factor where diabetes matters in cardiovascular disease in family history. But here is Y & Z factors where it clogged or scarring of the vascular tissues in the heart.

Even in my drinks dispenser where there are minimal oils and dirt, it gets clogged after a period of 6 months. instead of expensive service to get it unclogged, I now clear cleansed it every month. Imagine of those factors of oil to cholesterol passed through the heart longkang throughout the years.....where immunity is unable to factor in.after excessive substance abuse.

Ironic but true ....my brother physician told him "we are what we eat" where he was advised to eat foods which consist of greens instead of carbs like Die Look Mee and oily meats such as Bak Good Teh. Too bad he thought by stopping smoking years back and taking drugs to control his diabetes below 10, he would be alright in his last diagnosis of just 20% blockage 6 years ago. What I told him " you eat shit, you get shit " did not applied his book of health until the doctor told him otherwise. He was looking forward to have proper nutrition after his operation but unfortunately he died of complication.

Another sad case of my sister who suffered from stroke where I told her to go for medical check up where she showed with some classical symptoms . But she ignored me and rely on direct selling drugs sold by his son which cost RM6,000!!! 2 months later, she was stricken with stroke. And she was admitted to the hospital way too late. Stroke attack can be treated with new treatment of tissue plasminogen activator if being admitted within 3 hours of attack where the blood clot the brain vessel.

After being cast into Hawaii 5 O, it is prudent to consider these XYZ factors. Proper nutrition, Plenty of exercise , Adequate rest , Minimize stress to avoid stricken by stroke or heart attacked by DVT Deep Vein Thrombosis The risk is real especially for those who aged , obese and swelling in your legs, ankles and feet especially after planes rides or mahjong and sitting position while surfing for usj.com.my extended period. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-c...s/con-20031922
