It is interesting to know that she came from Assunta and her husband is John Lee from St. John. John married her
and took up the name of Taqfik Ayman. I was told that John was a staunch Catholic and have attended various
Catholic theology courses in the early days before he met Zeti. Zeti is the daughter of Proffessor Ungku Aziz.

Today we are honoured to have her as the Governor of Bank Negara, Malaysia,

She has chosen to remain silent in the 1MDB case.... maybe because she knew she was in a weak situation with MACC chief "taken ill" and the Attorney-General removed and the IGP clearly standing with the PM...

Now she is speaking up. Yesterday she said "the truth about 1MDB must be told.... the public has the right to know.."

I suppose her timing is good... she feels safe enough now to speak up...

Yes, Zeti... speak up coz we need to clear the mess....

Yes John Lee was. But to understand you must go back to the 60s. Most missionary schools taught English medium on all subjects with Bahasa Kebangsaan as a subject, They are considered the elite school at that time. Discipline is at the highest
level and religion was not important. Parents will tell you to study hard and hopefully to get a job to help the family.

When you attend the school, the usual morning prayers and gospel story was routine. But most were not forced to be converted to Christianity. Malay students are asked to refrain from the morning class.

English Literature and world history was taught and the best treat for a poor kampung kid like me was when there
was a film like " The Bible, Ben Hur, and the Ten Commandments " came to town, the school will give free passes
to watch it with your classmates.

It was more of a treat and adventure then getting convinced by the moral story of the film. Sad that Today our stomach are no longer hungry and we now have the time to defend our beliefs. Our parents was not fortunate to have this privilege .

I don't recall having any morning prayers or gospel story told when I attended 'one of the elite English schools' in KL.

Maybe not in K.L. but I was from Muar,Johore and I studied in St, Andrew's School, a missionary school whereby we address
the headmaster as Brother. At that time it was Brother Robert. The school usually starts with a short prayer and followed by
a gospel from Luke.

It must said that at that time most students do not bother about the short prayer . It was so routine that nobody cares.
Even the christian classmates (minority) dares not discuss or they will get bullied. Today it is totally different . it can win the hearts of the masses .

No such thing at St John's Institution KL in the 70's when I was there. Only extra classes for Catholic faith students who opted for it at another class.
I just didn't sense anything related to religion other than its known as a Catholic Church governed school under the Ministry of Education for all students regardless of race and creed.
If I'm not mistaken all the teachers (except the Catholic Brothers) were of different religious faith too. THIS ISN'T ANY ISSUE! as far as everyone is concerned. What is most important and fundamental is the proper education of all students there. No former student will ever deny this and all was fair and thorough.
