For stocks market, sometime you may not need to wait till fire sale to grab good deal..

I think I mentioned to you about Petronas Dagangan before. Similar scenario/opportunity happened to other companies as well from time to time. Just make sure you have some spare cash to grab the opportunity.

FGV Global has plunged more than 65% from their IPO price of RM4.55 and now is trading at around RM1.60-1.70. In my opinion, irresepctive of all the negative news about this company, this price is “good” for a plantation company which has huge land bank.

Just need to be patient and treat the whole exercise as a hobby for extra side income. Should not dump your wealth into stock market hopefully can make big return and then call it a day, unlikely it works this way..

p/s : Time is bad now.… Nowadays, people can just copy and paste from internet and “share” with you something they themselves have no clue about. Be careful and alert of dubious people who flood your mailbox and handphone with investment opportunities... !!

You are a seasoned investor. I think I probably worry too much.

Invest in the area that you feel most comfortable and knowledgeable. I don't like property investment not because it is a bad thing but just because I have little patience with the long buying and selling process. If your investment in property turn sour, at least you still have the property physically situated at the address with a lower market value but once share price plunge, the $$$ invested is not more than a few pieces of junk paper.

With the exception of IPO, I only buy share which had plunged more than 50%, doesn't matter the choices are limited.

some authority forgot to mention that to be a developed nation, your currency must be strong.
look at USD, CAN, AUS, SPORE all 3 to 4 times stronger than Ringgit.

Most European currencies are also strong.

So, all this talk of 'Bank Runs' in Greece is nothing more than.....

"Inciting Bank Runs As A Negotiating Tactic"

"One of those weapons is utilizing the media to incite a bank-run in Greece, aimed at paralyzing the Greek government into full submission"......."

"The European Union cannot deliberately aim at a bank-run in an individual eurozone member nation without quashing the very trust that holds the union together. The only remaining question after this is: who’s next in line?"

    >>ReadMore@ZH<<

Hmmm....just as I figured. .....Like I guessed in an earlier post, the EU will be the loser not Greece, and they will back off after all the threats .....lets see.

'Britain's most senior fund manager: 'It's time to hold physical cash'

"The manager of one of Britain’s biggest bond funds has urged investors to keep cash under the mattress."

    Quote:
".....was for investors to spread their money widely into different assets, including gold and silver, as well as cash in savings accounts. But he went further, suggesting it was wise to hold some “physical cash”, an unusual suggestion from a mainstream fund manager."

It's all very well to say something, I have no problem with that and with any forummer here too except for one particular one

But the word 'a$$h0!e' is a no no.

I say, sorry man you took offence to something I wrote....truthfully that post wasn't referring to you, but generalizing a devious trend that has developed in this Forum..... although I quoted your earlier post.....frankly I was referring to the text in it, being 'Big Alert'........but anyways you seemed to have picked it up although that word had weird characters in it ......I suppose you must be familiar with it

Now what I was referring to was.....a tendency here to 'shoot the messenger rather than the message'.....one need not accept what is posted, nor agree with any 'cut&paste' news article, BUT shooting the messenger rather than the message is not the way to go.....

If one disagrees with the post, say so and give your comments.....if a member has something to add on and contribute to the topic, share it and post it.......if one doesn't understand a post, nothing wrong in asking for an explanation.......however, if one has nothing constructive to say, then just STFU ......one only shows their level of ignorance and character by posting gibberish or delinquent posts aimed at the member's character and intelligence,.... rather than replying or contributing to the message.

And I repeat....that comment of mine, nor this is one, is not specifically targeted at you. If it was I would tell you so ..... Since I posted it, sorry again for any offence mistakenly perceived

Oh ya, BTW you wrote: "except for one particular one" .....you mean you have a serious issue with a fellow member here? Who's that and why? Besides the dozen or so of hacks, there's just another approx dozen or so members active here.....with so few here, oso can fight ah? .....surely we can resolve issues! Can I help?

    So finally the warnings appear....

"Weaker ringgit means higher costs" economists warn >>Read Here<<

“The value of a country’s currency is like a thermometer to the health of its economy,” said Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam, a former deputy secretary-general of the Finance Ministry, adding that currently, the readings were not good.

"And if the economy gets “ill”, it could mean harder times for everyone."

“Investors look at all these factors so the government should not see this slide as temporary, and come to grips with it,” said Ramon.
