Friend of mine living in Mont Kiara (I think corner unit) received a warning letter from a lawyer acting for the unit owner downstairs. Apparently, they were making too much noise just walking around in their own apartment.

Interesting.... So, what happen to your friends now ??

They start crawling and rolling in their own apartment instead of walking...

Joke aside, condo/apartment is a community-sharing living. I cannot imagine someone who can't stand people walking upstairs can survive in a condo. (I am assuming what you described about the noise annoyance is purely caused by people walking.. )

Unless your friends walk with specially-designed metal or wooden shoe, I fail to understand how loud the noise can be generated from people walking ??

Nowadays, they tiptoed from room to room. The unit owner downstairs happened to be a very important person. Hahahaha..... it is nice to be important, eh?

    Hmm, getting more interesting...

Can you check with your friends whether they are interested to sell or rent this unit?

I have been living in apartment more than 20 years, locally and abroad. I would love to explore this unique living experience of getting a legal warning just because I walk in my own apartment..

I think that family members are STOMPING AROUND! thats why it can be heard and its low frequency noise that easily travel through walls and floors.
C'mon, our buildings, eventhough look fancy and 22nd century are all made with local bricks, cement and or even cement blocks which are cheapest and economical to build.
Developers aren't going to use like those red bricks in UK which can last hundreds of years and of heavy clay mass. A lot of condo buildings are of cheap material, built by cheap foreign labor..so can't expect the best. Just feel lucky if cracks don't appear in 10 years.
Bottom line, low frequency sounds ARE audible through floors and walls. If anyone unsure about low frequency noise, go switch on a sub woofer, then listen from outside or further away..the bass notes can be heard more than high frequency tones.
Ahhh..anyway, what the heck this have to do with 3k toilets?..nothing really!

The whole of 3K has closed, supposedly since 1 June until further notice...
The last time I was there was in Mid May, they didn't mention anything about it... Only knew when I drove past yesterday... No sign of any construction work though..
The banner hung outside just said that it's closed until further notice, no mention of upgrading work. hmmmm...

The closure of the 3K Complex was reported in TheStar Metro section on 19th of June.

Looks like YB Hannah Yeoh a little to pre-occupied lately to look after things in her own backyard ?

Hopefully things would not drag on for too long and things starts happening soon. But knowing it's still puasa and raya coming, things would probably start moving in Aug? I can see there are lots of work to be done. fingers crossed...

To be fair to YB Hannah Yeoh, as an assemblywoman, this is not her direct responsibility though she needs to be aware of the issue. It's the responsibility of the local council and local councillor in charge to see that it's handled correctly and for her to help expedite it, if required...

As an anology, you don't need the company CEO to know whether the staff toilet has leaking sink. If the CEO needs to act on this, then something is not right with the organisation.
