    Fuel price hike

    http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Natio...truggle-go-on/

Be prepared for another round of price increase of goods and services.

We're moving towards 'high income' nation status.

I was in Bukit Bintang for dinner yesterday.

The petrol queue overflowed to the main road and caused terrible jam in that area.
People queue up just to save rm5 to rm10 but waste petrol in the jams ?

What normally took 10 mins to drive through the road took me 1 to 2 hours.
I think walking would have been faster.

Should we think that petrol price is of greatest concern that people must get their tankful worth at the 11th hour?
There's been silent increases on numerous consumer products, groceries, food and any other imports. MALAYSIA IS SO DEPENDENT ON IMPORTS so the consumer price Yo Yo up down worse than gold prices. You're practically at the mercy of importers or distributors. Pay up or do without it..
I frequent a well known chain mini market/convenience store and am observant at some products which Yo Yo in price.
Some examples, Cat and dog feed, body soap pack, dish washing liquid, Butter and Milk or dairy products. Only controlled priced products are consistent in price. The prices can vary up to 20% difference, maybe your Rm2 up from before on one product isn't much to look at, but it maybe 20% up at certain times and people buy these products often too. So your petrol up 10% is a lot to shout about I guess?
Nahh..If most rakyat are with stagnated income..its going to be difficult to keep up and either find ways to earn more or cut back..no if's no buts..IMHO. Travelling outstation by car is an expensive affair..I don't know if people realise it or not, but still go enjoy enjoy despite price inflation, toll and petrol. Just end up with less and less savings and cannot save enough to buy own house..thats why so many rent and rent and rent.
I'm already doing best by cooking from home and buying groceries where I see I can afford. Eating out remain a luxury only if my heart tells me I must eat out...failing that, its a no-no just to satisfy my appetite.

What BN is doing is fantastically shrewd.
For the poor and needy, they provided BR1M and claim they will increase the payment next year. Since I am not an eligible recipient, I do not know the amount. Let’s assume an increase of RM 300 for 2015 if BN follows through with their promises.
The poor normally uses motorbike or older cars but travel short distances. The petrol hike, if follows with BR1M increase, is fantastic. 300 rm divided by 20 sen = 1500 litre of petrol.

For the rich, need I say anything. They will be hardly impacted at all. All they have to do is to cut 1 fine dining meal with wine per month and they will break even.

For the middle income chaps/gals, that is where some may be impacted. Don’t go out on Saturday at all, and one should be able to breakeven with this price hike.

Of course, my illustrations are simplistic. And I know people will lament about the price increase but life goes on. That cup of starbucks each day will still be bought.

Then spend hellava lot during "school holidays" or balik kampung frenzy, just for about any logical reason or not.. its NOT cheap anymore, just mentioned there's lots of "silent increase" of prices just not felt.
How about travelling by non tolled roads?..maybe not much of savings either. Not just longer distance. Too many traffic lights, bad stretches of road quality that will tear your car. Oh well!..profit out of shortcomings, deprived and lackadaisical circumstances that have plagued this land for too long. I've said it before, ITS EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN and Keep up this country in comparison to some developed place Yet people still wanna buy NEW cars at whim and go goo-goo ga ga on new models launched!.. its mostly people's fault...no others I see. When the buying stop, prices go down..no?
If I reveal how much I spend on petrol a month, I would be branded as 1 in a million. 2 figures only..huh?. My biggest problem is TNB bill..how leh?..sigh!

There remain a couple of workarounds (not free) to counter increase petrol price but people just DON'T WANT..despite knowing for a lorry load of reasons or excuses.
1.Change to a smaller and more fuel efficient car, not necessarily you must buy new.
    2. NGV fuel.
Ok ok..I know people or whom I've talked to have more reasons NOT TO or just DUNWANT!..and counter lecture me till the cows come home by not wanting to do something that could be of personal benefit. Worst of all its like I'm seen as if I'm forcing bitter medicine down their throats. Yes, I know some reasons ARE VALID but its sometimes desperate measures can be useful, even though flawed.
Ok..those with not so fuel efficient cars..go afford or be at the mercy of any fuel price, for better or worse, its your money, your prerogative and right.

I suspect the govt is going to increase the BR1M in Budget 2014 so that they don't lose any votes

every1 is so worried & caught up about the measly 0.20sen up in fuel, when the knock on inflationary cost will whack them harder with a few hundred more X .20sen lah!

Endemic Corruption, nonstop public fund leakages and all sort & manner of cbt & embezzlement by your 1leaders past & present are the cause for such situation in your bolehland. And I havent even dare to speculate on the ongoing massive smuggling of fuel across your borders yet! Or those illegal sales of pump price diesel to the sme/factories (ever experienced diesel shortage even in SJ gas stations b4?) PADAN MUKA! NO sympathy from moi!

Every savvy busine$$man will merely pa$$ on the cost increa$e to the blur sotong Rakyak (Dont sign up as voters and DONT vote some more lah! tell that to all those rellies & friends too. HAHAHAHA!)

In reality, unless it is a contracted sales with no recourse for price increase, any increase aint No $kin off their no$e. they are all in bu$ine$$ to make profit$...wanna run at a lo$$, then open a charity home. Lagi 1, what was that again? NO SIMPATI LAH!

p/s Sept global price for RON95 (in developed nonsub countries lah - not underdev & subsidised world lah) is betw rm4-4.50/lit...so apa lagi mahu complain?

Wanna a hot tip? Move to LOS, where the price of Ron92 is B45 but the cost of living is anything from 30-60% CHEAPER than yur bolehland lah...

    http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Natio...l-price-hikes/

lagi dua...diesel in your bolehland diesel is Rm1.10-1.50 cheaper than LOS so a tanker or a kapal nelayan can fill 10,000lit x 2 trips a day at only rm0.20-30sen profit/lit (less tutup1mata permit dll donno whatcost) ...ali baba's great grandmother also can do this simple business lah!

    beh tahan lah...

Hasan said that the 20 sen increase was "very minimal".

"We are not doing this to burden the people. This is to strengthen the nation's financial reserves," he said.
