Most ppl eat n/l to fill their stomach esp.nite time like Opah warisan nasi lemak USJ9. The real n/l is home made with fresh grind chillies cook with onion and ikan billis. It goes well with bread, tortillas,or pita bread which i eat practically every Sunday dinner with my family.
Bro,malaysian national dish ala nasi lemak ala sambal is just like pizza ,it can combine with any food. Sometimes we cook nasi lemak at home ,of course with condiments consists of peanuts, fried ikan bilis, boil kangkong or lettuce, sambal tumis, boil eggs, steam rice with santan and pandan leaves.Bingo!!
Correction - banana leaves, not pandan leaves... BINGO!
David, where got ppl put banana leaves to cook nasi lemak.
As wrapper lah... nobody puts banana leaf to cook anything... I am a kampong boy lah and I just came back from nearly a week in Tg Barulak... in Padang Sumatera eating the best nasi leamak in the world!
p/s btw temperature in Tg Barulak is 18 degrees throught daytime and 15 degrees at night.... sedap.... between the Indian Ocean and Gunung Merapi, the semi-active volcano... my partner has a wooden bungalow on stilts there... plus 2 units of Land Rover Defenders...
now what can beat Land Rover Defender, let alone 2 unit![]()
This one is from Yahoo! which listed their own BEST 12 in KL/Klang Valley.....

My choice, Nasi Lemak Tanglin and the one in USJ14 (behind carwash-last time there was about a year ago)
Franky,hv you tried the one in USJ14 Petronas ,use to sell out before 8am.His sambal ikan bilis is very good
In front of the Selangor Medical Centre there is a mama shop... Something Corner.... there is a Malay couple selling nasi lemak there early in the morning and in the evening... very good rending ayam... and sambal sotong....
oh....I missed a good sambal sotong....cannot get any in Singapore. damn frus.
I remember quite recently we actually tasted good nasi lemak in a food court either at Punggol, Sembawang, Changi Village or perhaps Pasir Ris - we cannot recall but it has acar as well apart from the sotong sambal which if I recall correctly, superb! Let me check with my better half which foodcourt it was...
