Best Char Siew along this stretch?

I am not so into porky after the long ago JE and the constant & irresponsible use of Beta Agonis thingy in piggy...anyway, I promised to buy a big and long strip of Char Siew for a friend's mum staying in ZooView.

So, any1 to recommend where I can buy juicy (as in FAT) char siew from ss17>Duke>Setapak>UluKlang>Melawati>Zooview?
I dont mind detouring a bit here & there...any idea? And is the place opne on sunday?

    Lato,

Apollo Restaurant USJ4, the chicken rice stall, AW CHICKEN RICE, not cheap but imho, really good, suggest you try a bit first before you splash the cash. You can ask for the fatty part, he sells by weight, so any way you want can kautim. I think his char siew is ready by around 10am but you can go and ask if early. He normally opens by 9am and roasting at the back.
Everyday is a good day for GOOD FOOD and a GOOD LAUGH

Owner now is David Loh right? Of the famous Lucky Restaurant in Section 17 in PJ that UM students of the 70s and 80s swore by...

Yup. The chicken rice at AW sucks big time! haha. Haven't tried the duck rice so no comments. The char siew here is really good. Better than the cs at Glen M, methinks.

I have NEVER eaten at Apollo and I have been staying in these parts for more than a decade. ... except to "tau-pau" the lips-smacking char siew at AW.

I dropped by at Apollo one afternoon two years ago to pack chicken/duck rice. The man offered me a huge chunk of his freshly roasted char siew which I accepted politely. (I am not a char siew fan.) One bite and I'm hooked. It is delicious. I'd say it is better than the one at Glenmarie or the polay (glass?) char siew in PJ.

I've packed char siew rice from him on many occasions since. His duck/chicken rice isn't great, by the way. Only last weekend, I bought several strips of freshly roasted char siew from him to give as buah tangan when I went to visit my friends. They were char siew fans and they loved it!

I'm a char siew fan. I am your friend. B-but you never buy me any charsiew. I have to seriously review our friendship.
