Read a book by a scholar Professor Karen Armstrong "The History of God".... I have a copy almost in mint condition... whoever wants it, just PM me your name and address - first come first served... but please pass the book when you're done to the Subang Jaya Book Exchange c/o mWong or Sulynx ya so that others too can read it... let me warn you that this is "heavy stuff" reading with research works quoted etc and not a novel reading like The Other Side of Midnight or any Sidney Sheldon thriller...

I am so confused now.
When I was in Primary school in the 50s, my religious teacher referred to God as Tuan Allah.
So the rule apply to Sarawak & Sabah.
But NOT in West Malaysia

Use the word Assalamualaikum (peace be upon you) here and be prepared to be frown upon or worst, getting lectured for using it.... whereas if you were in the Middle East - use the same word and they would be sooooooo pleased and would reply the greetings back to you .... Pelik tapi benar...
Unfortunately back here - some people has a myopic belief that the usage of certain "arabic" words in (have to emphasize) West Malaysia can and will undermine a certain race's faith, religion and beliefs. This undermining and hidden agenda supposedly does not affect their kin or brethren from the other side of Msia. (so they say la.... )
Apparently some of the ministers and politicians from the that side (east malaysia) are beginning to see feathers ruffled but probably have been told to shut-up. IMHO - Not for very long.... I was told that one of the biggest christian communities in Sarawak (the SIB - Sidang Injil Borneo) has already started protesting. Lets see how this plays out....
Lets also hope the authorities would also look out and clamp down on these extremists, religious and racial bigots to ensure these dunggus don't capitalise on the coming Holy month of Ramadhan to rumour monger and spread lies and fear against each other....

If I may digress a bit but is this true or not ???? More road blocks = extra pocket money????
Now if NO OFFENSES are committed, how is extra pocket money gonna be "generated" ..... plus if one gets nabbed for an offense - just take the damn summons and shut up....
If any motorist gets pulled over and starts chatting like the cop is a long time kawan never see - then I blame the motorist for "negotiating" for leniency or for "loopholes" ....
Point in check: I just got pulled over for a faulty 3rd brake light.... Cop ask me if I knew why I got pulled over... I said dunno.... he then points out the defect which is a compoundable summons.... I apologised for the oversight and ask for the summons.... he then tells me to proceed to the nearest workshop (which btw was in USJ18) to fix it..... HABIS CERITA..... no summons but a stern lecture....

The Christian churches could very well say, "To heck with with it, we'll use Tuhan, Jehovah, Lord..." but the crux of the matter is they are fighting for their basic right - to practise their religion freely without interference. This is enshrined in our Federal Constitution when we declared independence. First, Article 11 provides that every person has the right to profess and to practice his or her religion and (subject to applicable laws restricting the propagation of other religions to Muslims) to propagate it. Second, the Constitution also provides that Islam is the religion of the country but other religions may be practiced in peace and harmony (Article 3).
