Goal line technology will be introduced in this World Cup 2014 for the first time.

Here's two informative (I hope) links to the news :-

    From CNN ...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CpX3WpAAE8

and this from the goal line technology company itself giving a media preview at Maracana stadium...

    http://www.theguardian.com/football/...p-brazil-video

...looks interesting. The reference to Frank Lampard's disallowed goal at the 2010 World Cup against Germany was one of many such "miscues" in decision-making in important soccer matches that adds to the impetus to develop and implement this goal line technology. Would history be changed if the goal was allowed..?

...a bit of history...England was down 2-1 at that time. Had Lampard's goal was allowed, it would be 2-2 after 38 minutes of play. Would history be different then?...

What WAS history, was that England got thumped 4-1 by Germany in that round of 16 match - its worst World Cup outing to date...!

    You decide..

    Cheers!

The 2 most controversial goals, Geoff Hurst goal in the W.Germany vs England Final 1966, and Diego Maradona "Hand of God" goal in 1986, exactly 20 years in between..

Tonight's Spain vs Holland looks like a grudge match...

Remember the final World Cup 2010? Spain pipped Holland 1-0 in extra time. The match had 14 yellow cards and one send off...

Should be an interesting match as the winners most likely would top the group and hence not potentially face Brazil in the next round....

Much would depends on the coaches' implementation of strategies on the day....

    Enjoy!

Just can't watch the games live due to the time difference.

I use the PVR (personal video recorder) feature of astro-IPTV to record.

I find it convenient .... Just let the router and HD decoder on and the recording will take place according to match time.

What a great strategy employed by Louis Van Gaal. Who would believe a 5-man defending line would whack a reigning World Champion 5-1....! Man U fans would be anxiously anticipating his arrival at the club next season...!

    Cheers!

The win was planned. But the agreed was a 3goal margin...that was the insider tip from sindikat. So some1 is making another killing there!

The Netherlands took sweet revenge on Spain, 5-1. What an unprecedented walloping for a defending champion.

Defending champion Spain is in the same position as France as the defending champion back in 2002 was it? Humiliation....

Did you see it...? Italy's first goal dummy was also replicated in Colombia's first goal against Greece...!

    Cheers!
