Due to the huge time difference between Brazil and Boleh most of us will be watching replays. If I can stay awake I will probably watch some of the later round matches.

We are 11 hours ahead of all the matches except for two venues - Cuiaba and Manaus, where we are 12 hours ahead...

So, if matchtimes start at 1300hrs (Brazil local time), just add 11 hours which is 2400hrs....that's 12 midnite on that day for us.

If match starts at 1600hrs (Brazil local time), just add 11 hours which is 27hours...which is 3am the next day for us.

Similarly for the 12 hours additions for Cuiaba and Manaus...

    It's aptly called gila bola...!

    Cheers!

The favourites for the title will be the usual suspects.

In no particular order, they are Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Holland and Spain. Maybe, Italy.

I don't rate England and France highly.

Portugal can be a dangerous team. They play attractive football but somehow they promise a lot but deliver very little when it matters.

Last minute construction works at the stadia must be at a breakneck speed to get them ready. Only seven days left to the opening ceremony. Good luck, Brazil.

I fancy Belgium to make it to the last 4; a special underdog this time around.

They have plenty of players in the BPL and chief among those are these outstanding footballers such as Hazard, Kompany, Fellani, Januzaj, Mignolet and Lukaku.
These talents are in goalkeeping, defence, midfield and forward, a well rounded squad indeed.

This is my take for the round of 16 matches:-

    1. Brazil vs Chile/Holland
    2. Colombia vs Italy
    3. Switzerland vs Bosnia
    4. Germany vs Russia
    5. Spain vs Croatia
    6. Uruguay/England vs Greece
    7. Argentina vs France
    8. Belgium vs Portugal/USA

    ....just my gut feelings... !

Here's a beautiful link to the world cup schedules. Suggest you use Google Chrome to surf to this site and use the translate page option ( its original is in Spanish). Use your mouse and hover over any of the text or icon for more details.

Oh, if you have a big screen (preferably desktop or iMac ) that would be lovely!....
