Suspicious activities in SS19/1 area caught on CCTV

Hi there, 2 days back, 2 guys dressed in what seems to be blue uniform(which somewhat resembles TNB/Syabas uniform) came to my house on motorbikes, one motorbike per person. They parked at the corner out of sight then walked towards my house, and from the side of the autogate, they used what seems to be binoculars to look into the inside of my house, while another guy is taking notes on a piece of paper. They were there for around 2 minutes before going off.

I'm pretty sure they aren't TNB people as my meter is actually placed on the outside, and from the angle of where the binoculars are pointing, they seem to be pointing straight into the glass door of my house, peeping inside the house. My whole family is unsure of what to do next, which is why I'm posting here.

I had contacted TNB and one of their staff had confirmed it is indeed not TNB staff.

Do advise what to do next. We are afraid they are marking our house, taking notes of valueble items etc.

Wow. They were looking in for a long time. Did you make a police report?

I think report to the nearest police station is your only solution at the moment.

They did not climb in, they are standing out at the public area looking in, I am not sure whether they break any law doing that or not.

Binoculars, cameras with 30x Zoom is selling cheap in the market... Close your curtains, shut your doors!

Go make a police report, then talk to the OCS Tuan Jasni at the USJ8 Police Station. He is very helpful. Then take it from there. Rgds.

If only the camera can capture a much closer view, enough to make out facial features for positive identification, PDRM may not help much.
I'm looking into some CCTV system that can do this..I need to see the FACE..., some figures lurking around isn't enough.

    1. ss19 is under Chief Insp. Sulaiman of SS17 balai.
    2. If cops were to investigate Unknown/Unseen characters with binos looking into a house then ALL legit & wannabe-'uniformed' jaywalkers, leaflet droppers, funds solicitors, door to door salemen, your visitors even, will keep them MORE 'busy' then they are now.
    3. So in this particular case, what crime had been commited? PeepTomming? Kay-po-cheeing?

    Next step:
    1. Inform your immediate neighbors & neighborhood of such characters (possibly up to no good) lurking around.
    2. keep an eye out for each other. And have each other's mobile handy.
    3. keep your cctv 'live' and online to your mobile for the next 30days
    4. Jangan Main main...you have been marked!

p/s once targetted, these robbers can jump over the gate in nanoseconds! 7 chinese robbers with parangs leaped over such gate in ss17 not so long ago. They robbed the just moved in 3mth 'flashy' and outwardly rich looking' family of practically everything in under 10mins! After the frightening experince, they put spikes on top of their gate and wall...
....AND they still didnt take the initiative to make friends with the neighborhood...Cest la vie.

Best of all.. git this! they stuck a pdrm sticker on the wall!

Hmm.. I guess the only drastic preventive is every residential road manned with armed with military, police and snipers.. I just see no other way.. gated community oso got risk and shortcomings..this is how bad this place I perceive its become. Its become risky even behind your so called " gate". Eventhough half century of so called progress and civilization since Merdeka, every home owner have to grill up doors, windows, or wall up the surrounding. Its almost a mandatory expenditure. This tells you how unsafe and risky it is. Maybe installing a good CCTV will become a "must have" trend too. I've said before, you're mostly on your own for beefing up security or preventive measures..PDRM can only do so much.

I've been to 1 gated/guarded area in USJ, fetch my colleague back. I just drive my car in (not fancy car, just Potong), wave my magic hand like in star wars, and the boom gate is opened no question asked. Not sure how much the resident there spent on protecting their area, but I think money wasted.

How about getting dogs? The dog will look after your house and be a good companion to you and your family. There are many places like MDDB where you can adopt any kind of dogs and give these stray dogs a chance. To train the dog, just google 'dog whisperer', his tactics works and once your dog is trained, it will be a good companion.

What do you mean by my meter is outside the house ? As in outside beside the gate? It is not clear. My meter is facing the road but it is attached to the wall of my house and the meter reader always uses his binoculars to take down the reading and jots it down but nowadays it is keyed in straight away into the bill (?) machine which prints out our copy.

Houses with 3-phase electricity supply have the meters outside beside the front gate.
