Probably that shop will re-offer tangki air for people who would like to store extra water...Those water containers ain't cheap, but when there's a real need, nobody will fuss on the price.. Business is good eh! even in times of difficulty.
Been noting on my phone SJ temperature is averaging over 90degF past days. Normally its around 82-90 at worst. Its really hot outside.
Better get your aircon fully serviced for optimum efficiency rather than paying more energy rates for nothing... TNB will prosper this month..believe it or not!
That's why my store room has all those extra containers for times like these. Reuse them each year since years ago when the crisis hit us. Syabas now blames Selangor govt. later the director will blame God so he is blameless.

Come to think of it, for those who live here in Selangor, maybe better to add another water tank fixed parallel to the existing one...to increase storage capacity. Usual is only about 400 gallons..I think.
Yes, it may be costly but its a long time solution to extend storage in case of longer dry spell and use. THIS DOES NOT MEAN IT GIVE LIBERTY TO ALL TO USE WATER like no tomorrow and just because its cheap or very affordable.
Savings and conservation is a good virtue in practice.
I had an extra tank fixed but my stupid contractor didn't align it properly so the float didn't close the water intake pipe properly. Had to disconnect it. Now it is sitting uselessly under the roof. Couldn't fix it.

Do be careful when adding storage tank. 1 liter of water = 1 kg. 1 m3 = 1 ton.
Little bird told me, people lining up the shop to buy the tangki!..Never had it so good business!... thumbs up!
Another Malaysian pecularity!.. Malaysia Boleh, only in Malaysia!
Be like me. I store my containers after each crisis and reuse them when the crisis comes back. The best containers are those plastic rubbish bins. I have recycled them countless times and they are still ok. The other containers colored red and blue deteriorate after a few years.

The picture gets clearer
“We will focus on areas which are affected badly by the recent water crisis,” he[MB] said in his personal twitter account."
"He also said that Selangor would be divided into two zones for the purpose of the water rationing and the notice on the rationing would be issued this evening at the latest."

And then....

My spare tank.
I have parallel piping from the mains, after the meter. One goes into the tank in the ceiling and another one goes here. When there is water cut I will pump the water from this spare tank into the one in the ceiling. There'll be water for the toilet and washing/bathing for awhile.![]()

I'm sure its a few thousand...just for the tank. Installation cost vary depending on what materials insisted, difficulty and length required. There's all sorts of tank quality in the market, it takes a keen eye to choose a good one. And please choose a really good one...you're not at liberty to simply change this like changing clothes...buy once and for all time.
I would love to have one, but can't see the real need unless water interruption is really frequent or we're in a really bad and irritating situation. Afterall, only 2 at home...no kids...no irritating ruffians who don't know how to behave.
BTW...a water filter is really necessary for those living in SJ. High iron content and not very clean... look inside your toilet cistern..see whether gone brown or not? If yes..u better filter the water...imagine years of unimaginables inside your roof tank!..
The previous owner left behind the tank for me. It was originally in an odd location and taking up useful space. During renovations, before moving in, I ask the contractor to do a proper concrete footing, install new piping and filter and relocated the tank to the side and thus freeing up some space.
The charges were all lumped together. So I do not know how much the individual works cost.![]()
