Missing Husky Since 14 Jan - Please help

Dear USJ community,

My dog (Siberian Husky - Name, Hazel, with the following characteristics Grey White, female, blue eye, with slight drop in both ear due to recent hemetoma) went missing on the 14 Jan around 8-9pm at USJ 11/3.


Sis friend came in to self pickup some stuff from my house when none of us is around, left the gate open and my dog speed off. By the time my sis return home is an hour later and I am stuck overseas knowing the incident but cant do anything about it.

Now that I am back, I'm trying every means and possible channel to trace and hopefully some good Samaritan have pick up my dog while waiting for this note. If you happen to see my dog around or with your neighbor, very much appreciate it if you can share the information with him and with me. If she is wandering around, would be grateful if you can help to get hold of her or call me, will respond immediately.

She had been with us for 7 years, very much looking forward to be reunited with her again. I'm sure she too is panicking that she couldnt find her way home. Help is much appreciated.

Once again your help is very much appreciated, I have been going round after work everyday since my return from overseas, tried MPSJ dog compound, SPCA in ampang, but nothing fruitful so far. Hope someone can help to reunite us.

Many thanks for your attention. My dog was just found by another Husky owner i bump into a couple of days ago during my search. Glad that she is back and we have received help from some good ppl around our neighborhood.

I understand what you have gone through. I, too, spend days, going from house to house looking for my dogs when they go missing.

From my experience, bringing a photo and asking around helps a lot.

Yup, we do have fine neighbours around USJ.

I remember when I was a child, I had two dogs in my Dad’s house and some neighbours had their dogs too. The dogs served many purposes and one of the primary purpose was to guard the house - protect us and get rid of unwanted intruders like rat, snake and stranger. Some of the dogs roamed freely in the days for territorial marking around the neighborhood and came back for food during dinner time. No need to look for missing dog.

It is amazing to know things had changed so fast and so much… Nowadays, human takes care of the dog, human spends money/effort/time to protect the dog and have to search for the dog because it has gone “missing”.

I like dog but don't like the way some people treat their dog - they treat the dog as someone more important than their parents...

Why human take care of dogs ? Dogs do not answer back if there is an argument or criticism . They will wag their tail when you come home. The affection they give sometimes surpassed human household beings. If they cannot love dogs, how can they love people. Imagine if you take care of your family members like you take care of dogs ,it will be wonderful. However, we always take things for granted and that is why we need films like "The Journey" to remind us of our filial piety duty.

Actually, I do believe my dogs, a retriever and a husky, knows how to get back. Unfortunately or fortunately, they were kept by people who found them.

Would love to let them roam free but I am not super rich and do not have grand estates for them to roam around leash free. Also, you know that MPSJ does not allow that.

...and I love my mom equally............hahaha kidding. Of course not, there is no comparison.

It is perplexing to see people spend considerable amount of money and effort on their pet while their aged parents are sent to elderly care center/nursery because they have no time to take care of parents.

A faith that I believe tells me all lives are equal…

Many adorable animals like goat, cow, pig, chicken, etc. do not answer back also if there is an argument or criticism..

Why you eat them... or why you ate them before ?

There are considerable amount of people in this world “cannot” love dogs due to some reasons, they also think dogs are not holly.

Are you saying since they cannot love dogs, they cannot love other people…. ??

Sure...people's mind works in different ways...a lot of variety in this world. I think people in the west are with a current trend of sending their old folks or old siblings to homes because there's better quality care offered there. Unlike here, homes can questionable and variance in quality services which gives rise to hearing horror stories that these old folks aren't getting treated any better or neglected. Malaysia is different in many aspects from mindset to how people lead their lives...period!

Rhiga, my mum just celebrated her 80th birthday. She stays not too far from your place. Me in USJ. I have been practically begging my mom to stay with me but she is adamant in staying alone. Also, she tells me, if 'choi ke tai ka lai si' she is 'thaan cho' or paralysed for whatever reason, she prefers to be in a nursing home, she has even seen a few by herself and happy with it. Her sister, my aunt, too has the same view. She stays in Penang, well off. She, too, told me she has seen a few places and selected one.

Before you think we have a strained relationship, nope, we have a great relationship. We go shopping to together twice a week. Other days, my daughter goes out with her. My kids adore her, she adores them. Almost every year we go on tour together. So, go figure. I cannot imagine why some old folks prefer to be in the nursing home.

No, I don't.

I am not saying you.. It is what I have seen in elderly nursery. They are people who treat pets better than their parents.

My Dad is like your mum. He stays alone in Malacca and will visit me and my siblings in SJ every month. Normally, he will stay at my house for 2 weeks and the rest of time in Malacca.

My Dad cooks his own meals and still can drive a car. He has his old buddies in Malacca. What I can do as a son is to give all his buddies my contact number if they need to contact me in emergency.

But of course this is not the norm. Most old folks DO NOT WANT to be in the old folks home.

So, please do not put there, if possible.

I lost my Mini Schnauzer a few years ago the same way. I try to find him over two days but failed. He was old (11 years) and having bad eyesight. I suspect he was run over by a car somewhere.

A pet shop in Taipan makes dog tags with identification details inscribed eg tel no, names.

That way, anyone that finds a lost pet can contact the owner.

Actually, anyone that finds a lost dog and has a MPSJ dog tag hanging on the collar can call up MPSJ and trace the owner. A USJ neighbour called me when they found my dogs. Thanks again to them for taking the trouble.
