    Angry Beer Bars Talk

    Hi my friends,

This thread is just for fun and few of us are very much curious to discuss beer bars and after myths. we all know good restaurants in USJ to eat but we don't have enough knowledge of beer bars

We had discussion on THE ESCAPE BAR at usj 19 mall where middle aged guys have more than drinking beer on their minds lol. Passed to you QuietStorm,

Please contribute your views ans share your knowledge friends

The safest place to drink is the Lakeview Club . It is situated near the crocodile farm eatery ,opposite the Windmill.
Parking free and guarded 24 hours. opens after 200pm to 1 am daily.

I think Setia Walk in Puchong is pretty good. Competitive pricing with good ambiance.

Silentroar yo! Ah, yes. at last. The beer talk thread is up and running! Like I said, I ain't a beer-kaki but I can come in to "kacau" every now and then like what I am doing now.

We've barely started to talk about things that go hic-hichity-hic at The Escape Bar (EB) where drinking girls are ever ready to take your sorrows away...hmm...is that what it is eh? . Silentroar, have you had a chance to visit EB? Come in and share with us your urmm...experience.

Cheapest beer in USJ now is at the In House Cafe next to Berry's cake house - 1 bucket of Hoegaarden only RM49.90. Only problem is cash only no credit card!

i got a Oz friend who is into all those LIVE 'evergreen' songs by live band/s...he is coming to visit soon and have expressed a desire to be taken to such a place... I am totally legless, clueless & helpless in this arena... I absolutely havent the faintest idea where to find a place with live bands belting out such 'evergreen' songs... Can any one please point me to the right direction? Preferably in Sjaya lah...cos If I cant take that kinda music, i can zip home in a jiffy!

my kinda evergreen is still the heavy metal and rock type: Deep Purple, eric Clapton, ELO, Eagles, classic & soft rock ballads and of course (when stoned), Marley's Raggae hit the button...

Many a pub nowadays are so sinfully dark, i can barely see my beer! Compound that with bad music & worst irritating karaoke (esp all those canto pop wannabes!) blaring so loud, i can barely hear myself think! ... But the warm bodies of thai, china, viet, indon, pino SYTs do provide distractions from all those irritating patrons

Yeah Quiet Storm..... EB ummmm...... sort of good. I went there and had some beers with live band performing... Girls normally come there to take their BFs sorrows if you are alone there, you ruin your life but yeah middle aged owner will come to your table again & again asking for more and if you are alone she can send waitress to have talk with you. so you don't feel sort of bore. Very small place and ambiance is fine enough

Oh I didn't know the owner is a lady. And she would send ladies to drink with you if you so desire? Hmmm...she could have been a "mamasan" somewhere before she set up shop here. (Joking. No character assassination intended )

Evergreen songs by live bands used to be at hotel lobbies. Used to frequent Sunway Hotel and Sheraton Subang (previous). Sometimes they have good bands, sometimes not. Normally they rotate every 3 months. I have not been there for a long time, ever since Puchong starts to be happening, starting with IOI Boulevard and now, Setia Walk.

You can check out these guys.....they usually play in the SJ/PJ area on weekdays, but you are sure to catch them on Sunday @ Hard Rock Cafe [KL ok, not Putrajaya ].....The link to their website is below, there you will find more videos and a link to where you can 'catch them 'Live' this week.'

Lato Tupai, at the Golden Sands Resort here (which is also owned and managed by Shangri-La Group) located next to Rasa Sayang Resort, they have an old band - and I mean they are really old - coz I knew these guys way back in the late 80s when I used to bring my girlfriend (now my wife lah) here for a slice of papaya boat and a drink... everything also got - double-bass, guitar, violin, banjos and they sing really oldies.... and you see lots of the tourists (obviously ex-air force people from RAAF base in Butterworth) or ex-residents from Hillside... all dancing on the side...
