    Got...here's for sharing:

"Listen! You eat my food. You live in my house. Your clothes are bought with my money. You school/college fees are paid by me. Your bed, wardrobe, iphone, ipad, bedroom aircon bill, Everything you have paid for and belong to me. SO to keep it short & simple.
    You better follow my rules.
Else if you think you know all, you can solve everything. You are all Big & small...
then to keep peace for everyone, Please Move out and find/fund your own lifestyle. Only then you really & truly can do whatever the things you see as 'right'. Capishe?"

Trouble is...kid go where?...in this land, a reality and the possibility and chance of them becomes worse off or the worst case future for them outside or on their own all of a sudden. This isn't USA or EU! or TV land scene!

For better or worstis how Parents can choose to guide/instruct/steer the teens...if they failed to listen or rebel too often, then it is time to cut the cord...

So BSLee, Got lah...Kids or teens can 'survive' anywhere outside USA or tv land lah...If they chose to be so damn smart and bo-thia-uoah, then move out. But before that they must be shown the real life lah.

Take the teens to ChowKit (preferably at night), even nearer home ss15 Tai-chow, or Puchong pasar malam, Or as a holiday treat LOS for an eye opening educational tour.

Show them that young teens or young know-all adults (prob many are without supportive parents or broken family or whatever the reasons they hit the street) having to work/slave/wait on table/sell dvd/kueh/shampoo , massage girls, railway porters, coolies, entrapped labour, all eking out a miserable living at young tender age...or even to yangon river port to see kids of 10?12? as ferry/boat porters carrying goods (giant lorry battery included! more than their own weight for a few kyats...

Such is reality and pampered urban know all teens MUST be shown the true hardship of life unless they all are sons&daughters of apanama a/l kutty or najis or wassahisname tourism minister?

apa lagi smart aleck teens mahu?

I can't help coz I don't have kids at that age... but an answer given by a friend of mine as well as from my bro-in-law when I praised them for raising such great kids... Bachelor of Accountancy, then CPA, then work and buy an apartment in Sydney dll...

"I treat him like my buddies and I talk to them a lot... via phone, Skype, email etc... and they talk to me like their buddies too... the day we stop talking, there will be trouble"

What is the 'market rate', the allowance or pocket money for a 20 year old.

This allowance should cover petrol and food while at uni nearby. Hp bill borne by parents. Staying with parents.

Is RM600 fair or 'so difficult to cope with this amount'.

    Thank you.

Wah! 600?..I'm somewhat living out with that amount for 30 days. Phone, food, minimal utility bills, helped by avoiding fine dining, expensive fast food, and unreasonably priced eateries, cook home most of the time.

    10 cents for a ear plug !!

Obviously, you have not bought ear plug before !!

Get ready with RM10-15 for a box of ear plug (2 pairs inside) and it is recommended to change a new box every month for hygiene purpose...

No, not 10 cents to buy ear plug. He can use the two 10 cents to plug in his ears, unless he has small ears, than 5 cents will do.

They both drive to uni. So I have to factor in petrol as well. Now, both of them are grumbling and asking for an increment because of the recent petrol hike and the expensive food at Taylors.

Any one with kids at uni that drives. How much do you give a month?
