Angry Daily traffic congestion at old KFC Junction

I am sure every resident plying this route to get to work every morning is aware of this traffic congestion that I think is getting unbearable day by day. This is futher worsened by unethical motorist who jumps lanes and later joins the queues at the tail end, which aggravates the traffic conditions further. This is also the case in the evenings when one tries to get into the KFC junction to get home.

This has been happening for too long now. Can't MPSJ put up those little orangy poles to ensure motorist are disciplined enough to follow the flow of traffic instead of jumping queues and changing lanes.

I think something can be done at that particular exit during the morning congestion.

The congestion started right at the bridge and not really at Federal hway as most would think. Over at the bridge there are 3 lanes for outgoing traffics. The left most lane is mean for traffic heading to Glenmarie and the remaining 2 lanes are for those heading into Federal Hway. Some of the traffics coming from SS19 would cut into the left lane to head into Glenmarie and the rest are heading into Federal Hway. While some of those coming from the Subang Parade and making the big U-turn, would cut into the right lane to head into Federal Hway. And most of the time there will be chaos on the bridge thus worsened the situation.

I would suggest MPSJ place barriers to separate between the left lane and the center lane to prevent traffic coming from SS19 to head into Glenmarie and also those from the U-turn to head into Federal Hway. If those traffic coming from SS19 want to head into Glenmarie, then they should take the U-turn. And if those traffic from Subang Parade want to head into Federal Hway should use the SS19 internal road to join the queue along the SS19 area.

However, I think the chaos starts right from the Traffic Light at SS19 where motorists waiting to turn into SS15 will use the extreme lane on the left and end up at the Traffic Light junction. This will then slow down the traffic moving straight ahead into Fed Hway or Glenmarie.

So, I agree that MPSJ should put up barriers at all these spots to deter motorist from jumping lanes.

hmm the idea is ok. making a big u turn ONLY to go either shah alam/klang or glenmarie. for those wishing to go toward pj/kl, use the internal ss19 roads. this means, going from subang parade but before the u-turn (at the school), turn into ss19, go straight up the road till the end, make a left turn, and then join into jalan tujuan near the traffic light...

however.... that road is already very congested...

    any other great ideas?

There will always be traffic jams. If you think of one easing a particular route, it will affect traffic at some other road somewhere. It never ends.

My suggestion is leave the house earlier.

The worse is not over, wait till the houses at USJ3A,B,C etc. are ready and occupied. ......

I think residents from USJ 23-27 and Putra Heights also contribute to the jam in USJ. If they are to go to PJ, through LDP is all jammed up as well plus have to pay toll, through Shah Alam - too far, so the best route is through USJ.. Luckily for me I work in Shah Alam so use the back way.

Any which way you use also jam. As the chinese saying goes, if you are smart, other people is not stupid. So I leave for work earlier anyway to avoid the jam.

    Cheers!

Yup. Leaving earlier is the answer. These days I wake up at 6:30 am, look out the window and the road is already full of cars. Sigh.

I usually leave d house at 6.45am to get to KL on time....but imagine those leaving much later. In fact a few minutes makes a huge difference when it comes to traffic congestion in Subang Jaya.

Why should residents pay d price for poor planning by the authorities. I'm sure with proper strategic planning, things can be improved. Getting caught in long jams are very stressful and is not worth going thru at all. As it is, federal highway is one unpredictable route that we all have to endure with. As taxpayers, I think we have a right and should be heard. I'm sure there's something that can be done to improve this situation.

I guess one of the way to avoid the jam on the federal highway is to use the Tollway and pay toll. But that would raise the price of our commute. At least it saves us some sleep. If I want to, I guess I could use the KESAS way..
