So far only receive receipts for the afternoon tuition which was written as sumbangan. As for the co-cu, never before even after so many attempts requesting it from the school.

"Ok, now you parents have the say by winning the AJK seats. Never mind, let's use the BOG as a channel for all these fee-charging activities to collect money. WAKAKAKA, ain't I brilliant. Then parents don't have any say, whether I want to make any activities compulsory, whether the fees are too expensive, and I don't need parents to approve the account ... WAKAKAKA"

phew... when I wake up, so glad the above is just a nightmare...

Well, nothing much we parents can do. 司马昭之心,路人皆知。

I guess let them do whatever they want, as long as they don't kacau the children and teachers and the teaching in school.

Or may be can channel to lhpibg2013@gmail.com, with the snapshot of the notice. Or even can call up MOE / JPS to clarify I guess.
May be they can help, though I am a bit in doubt of this. Not that they are not capable, ... if check with HM, ai ya, sure got excuse; if not won't come out such notice. Check with JPS, may be they might said it's SJKC internal issue...

Think about it, out of 2000 parents in LH, how many bothers?

Ya, NasiPaprik, you are right. I should be relax..

That is the sad reality. I guess like what the headmaster said in the previous PIBG AGM, if you are not happy, just transfer, easier and less troublesome for all parties.

Wah, you sounded like HM... hahaha..

Reality is sad, but doesn't mean it should make u behave like one of them and do the wrong thing when u know it's wrong.

The school is build for the people, and not owned by any HM or BOG. No one have rights to ask anyone to leave.

Though the reality is sad, just do the right thing and the best you can.

Though majority parents are ignorant, and nothing we can do, doesn't mean that the wrong thing will become right; or we need to join those doing wrong thing.

Remember, eventually, everyone has to face their own 'judgement day' when it comes, and it will definitely come. And are u going to answer for other's sin ?

And a school is a holy place, but if one abused it for power, fame & $$$, imagine how sinful it is.

Knowing very well that those parents intention is for the welfare of children, they are just asking for an option, still those people want to twist and sabotag them, lagi sinful.

Just wait for your turn to come ...

Sometimes to make life easier especially when it comes to administration, it is easier for everyone to attend or not attend rather than half-half ... I suppose that is probably the main reason why the HM insisted on "wajib" extra tuition. Don't you think so ?

However, it is good that the school is finally doing the right thing by giving the parents the option to choose in an official notice since tuition fees are being charged. Now, the school is covered from being accused of any wrongdoings and illegal misconducts.

If the HM did not want any 'half-half - then why aren't the co-curriculum 'wajib' ?

In other words, if the co-curriculum is 'optional' then why isn't the extra-tuition 'optional' in the very beginning ?

Perhaps, the academic lessons are regarded as of higher value and importance than co-curriculum ?

After all, Lick Hung is given the title "High Performance School (HPS)" because of its academic achievements (which carries more weightage) and not for its co-curriculum. Are your children coming to Lick Hung to study or to play ?

No matter how good, still no excuse to rip other's right by making it compulsory.

Just like if a parent find han yu ping yin class is of high value academic wise, also no right to say it must be set as compulsory class.

And bro, u r wrong. LH gets HPS not because of it's high academic achievements, but it's co-cu.

You are the one that is misinformed - Kluster Kecemerlangan title is for co-curriculum and specifically for Chinese Orchestra and Cultural Dances in Lick Hung's case. The HPS title is mainly for academic achievements (higher weightage) plus co-curriculum.

Opps , u r right. Pai sei pai sei... But still same thing,

No matter how good one thinks, still no excuse to rip other's right by making it compulsory.

Some more good enough reason why some parents want to opt out was given; still u want to be ignorant.

Haven't counted those say the extra class is good because it's cheap day care.

At least Han Yu Ping Yin class, no one will take it as cheap day care and promote to all say it's good.

    In short, no compulsory.

Don't misunderstand me. I am a neutral parent trying to look at both sides of the fence. It is easy to take a partisan position and ignore the reasonings of the other side.

    Comata,

Did you mean to say that by having it as 'wajib' - you force all the parents to concur with your view that only extra-tuition can maintain your HPS?

Even if it is not 'wajib' now, we still can opt-in to the extra tuition, but it is our choice not yours.

You have diverted to a different subject of weightage between academic and co-curriculum which every parent weighted it differently, which is fine.

    Extra-tuition
