If I read and understand this correctly, means it's all just technical issue. Tuition can start any time, by right should have started.... mm... HM aka PIBG Advisor for so long should've known this what.

But one thing to be cautious: Make sure the money goes to the rightful persons !!

My daughter will be so sad to hear this.

She had been very happy this whole week and kept telling me every day that there will be no more UPSR tuition in Lick Hung.

She still need to have self discipline to revise her school work. Try to read ahead before teachers teach, especially science and maths. Students must be trained to learn on their own. As fas as i know, the tuition is used to finish the syllabus. That means in normal P&P in class, teachers are unable to complete the topic in times coz too many things to teach.

Frankly, if we teachers know that the syllabus is designed such a way that we find hard to complete teaching and too ideal for the students to digest, why can't all teachers in sjkc voice out. We have sooooooooooo many sjkc teachers and hm, no one tell the moe , hey, the syllabus designed is just too complicated and deviate the purpose of primary education? Ok, the actual fact is we teachers only menurut perintah. We feel irritatef but we are scared to voice out coz it will affect our career as in increase in income will be an obstacle should we too vocal. Or we will be transferred to faraway place.

I am realistic on my daughter's capability. Based on previous year Standrd 5 LH exam results, if she improves by 1 grade, her best will be 4A 3B.

I am just thinking whether is it logical to put her through the LH extreme tuition program that is aimed to generate 7A ? Is it worth making her final year a torture for an exam that has no value or consequence to her future ? We have decided to attend local SMK, so long as she passes BM and the other subjects, it is sufficient. I recall reading one parent writing and questioning the logic of putting in 200% to get 80%, an A ?

Yes, my girl will study and give her best efforts but is the extreme tuition really worth it when the outcome values nothing except for ego ?

Those who think their children can obtain 7A by attending LH in-house tuition will be disappointed. Student who can score 7A don’t need the “extreme tuition”. The after-school tuition in LH is a big waste of time for the high-achievers and is a torture for others.

From waht you wrote about your daughter, I think it is better for your daughter not to attend the tuition. Utilize the available time at home for self-revision will have a higher chance to improve from 4A3B to 5A or 6A. I do not mention 7A as I think you are a English-background parent. I think it is a tall order for children from English-speaking family to get A in both BC Pemahaman and BC Penulisan. Since your daughter is happy without tuition, you should let her continue to feel happy for the whole year by optiing her out from the tuition.

.... and for the parent who mentioned there’s no need to work hard 200% just for the 90%, I guess by now you should know who is the parent. What he actually mean is - when one can achieve 90% by working hard 100%, there is no need to torture oneself to join the blurred majority to work hard 200%..

Anyway, everyone should start their engine now. Do not wait for the school tuition. HM makes final decision to start or to stop. After all HPS has special allocation to start any program to maintain her HPS status, including tuition. But if HM choose not to use HPS allocation and instead, insist the parents pay for it, then I am speechless. The fund is there, maybe can claim while the parents pay for the tuition.....

As for my son, last year he joined the school afternoon tuition. This year he wants to continue with friends. I just wait for the notice from the school. Luckily he is not in standard 6. Otherwise i will need to search wide and far for tutor to finish the syllabus now instead of waiting for hm's decision. If the hm stop the tuition due to his own personal conflict with YDP PIBG, then he is really not professional. But he couldn't be that silly. Or maybe his gang will repeat the same lies and tricks again to put the blame on YDP for everything that happened in school. Luckily I know how the school operates. I won't be misguided. But how many parents out there who are not in education line understand this issue as I do? Pray hard......

This is so funny to say.

I really feel "strange" to read and write in the Lick Hung forum knowing that currymee is banned for a few weeks and cannot take part.

I never realised that he is such an integral part of this forum. I know I have my differences with CM many times but just felt strange without CM.

I hope some other parents can step up and fill his gap especially in keeping working parents like me informed of what is happening in LH regularly.

The school website is absolutely useless. Every senior parents know this.

    TUITION

Received a message late last night...Std 6 tuition is expected to start early Feb. The non std 6 classes should resume after AGM. Strongly advised to wait for official letter from school as final decision is still in the hands of the school headmaster.

    Mr Tan Sweee Huat (HM),

Thank you for the SHORT NOTICE (less than 24 hours) Your notice dated 16th January (Fri), but we just saw it today (Mon, 19th January) at the school website - don't cheat and lie with dates

In my company, we have to apply leave 3 days IN ADVANCE

Are you going to compensate me for taking emergency leave (EL) ?

Do you plan your work ?

Just got back from work and my daughter said tomorrow I do not have to go and collect the Bantuan RM100.

She said the school HM allows Std 6 students to collect on behalf of their parents if parents signed on the school notice with the children's hand written agreement.

I told her I had already taken EL so I am going to see and talk to her teacher about all this nonsense.

This is really one seriously messed up school in its operating procedures. Changes are made orally and authorisations are written by children themselves.

Please get your act together. If you are in my MNC company, I will recommend for the whole lot of you to be sacked for incompetency!

Luckily, you are civil servants, so incompetency is part of the expected traits

This is really crazy. I think the Headmaster is trying his luck to give such a short notice so that 80% of the parents cannot collect and he will gain from there. Who is there to check whether the money was taken by parent or imposter?
