Since we are all going to be affected by what the new cabinet does or does not do, I thought it would be appropriate for us to air our views on anything which concerns the makeup of the new cabinet. When I run a company I would employ people who are competent and proficient in their respective fields to help me manage the company. Whilst this company may not belong to me, because of the fact that the owners have entrusted me with the job, then I would select the best people for the job. As an example I would employ the best hr manager that i can afford and whoever else that I need to help me carry out my task to run the company and make money for the owners. I would not employ people with shady pasts or someone who has been caught for embezzling cash to be in charge of the finance department. I would also not employ someone because he is related to who and who. I would also not get a sales person to run the production department or a clerk to be in charge of the sales department just because he used to work for the owners father.
The question now is whether we have right people with sufficient abilities to run the country. If we cannot trust this or that person to run a small company can we leave our whole country's direction in the hands of some fella from some godforsaken part of the country who is there because thats his reward for winning the elections for the ruling party? You look at some of the ministers/deputies. As a HR manager you wouldnt employ him or her to run a pasty shop. Now hundreds of millions or billions are going to be decided where it is going to be spent by them. They are going to decide how much gst we have to pay, how much we have to pay in taxes, .The thought is really frightening.
