    Audiobooks

I liked listening to audiobooks, I always did. They used to come in cartridges which you pop into a player to listen. My player is no longer in action. Hence, this question.

My audio books are in MP3. I usually listen to them while working on my desktop. How else can I play them without using earphones? Is there a gadget where I can store these MP3 and listen to them before I sleep, for example, without earphones?

    Thanks.

This was possible in the past due to audio cassettes and a small cassette player or radio-cassette player which have their own speakers. I guess your problem is the distant location of your desktop PC.

Someone could suggest to play it off your smartphone but then the batteries would be flat when you wake up. Well, there is something similar and that is the iPod Touch or the iPhone. There are special speaker sets built to be placed by your bedside...plug in the iPhone/iPod into this speaker and it plays music (or in your case, audiobooks). This is where Steve Jobs thought of such a great design.

And as the iPod/iPhone is not just limited to music, you can set its clock to wake you up the next morning too.

Thanks, Chang. I think I'll give the iPod a look since you mentioned the speaker sets. Wouldn't want to drain out the batteries on the phone.
