So much hoo-hah in the elections talk about progress, prosperity, etc, but the
only thing which seems to have progressed tremendously these days is crime.

While paying a parking summons in the MBPJ a few months ago, I had a discussion
about the staff there about the current crime state of the country, and one of the
enforcement officers there commented that "Malaysia is now like Colombia."

If you have ever make a police report and speak to them, you know why the crime rate is still high.

There was a report, most police spent their time doing paperwork rather than going out to patrol.

Furthermore, the sentence is too lenient.

Perhaps there should be a police beat in every recreation and park area now.

Well, our now care taker Home Minister Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said Malaysia is very safe and high crime is only perception. I think all Malaysians wonder how this unbelievably stupid Hishammuddin Tun Hussein can be in charge of home security.

You got what majority voted for, posts to mere politicians with NO real relative qualification nor expertise to running that ministry!

While it is appreciated that the Star reported this but with respect it is filled with inaccuracies:-

    1. The Murderer Pillion Rider did not demand for her belongings but in fact stabbed her straight away, 3 times upon alighting from the motorbike. And he stabbed her again for the 4th time when she was on the ground. They then tried to pull her pouch which was sling across her shoulder.

    2. The daughter was running away to get help.

    3. Yes, she was shielding her daughter.

    4. The daughter is 17 years old not 20.

    5. Her husband was there too but he was running ahead as they were preparing for the Hash Run.

    6. The riders were NOT wearing full face helmet.
    Is this robbery or murder???
Looks more like murder rather than a simple robbery...

Then again, it could be that the robbers were really cold blooded and that's even scarier...

She is such a good person and gives herself to help so many charities. She and her family was volunteering today at a charity run at Gasing Hills today evening, she was stabbed four (4) times by two (2) robbers on a motorbike who came from behind herself and her daughter. My friend, realizing danger pushed her daughter to safety but was stabbed by these people stab her three (3) times on her shoulder and once on her thigh. Her husband ran to her aid but she died before they could send her to a hospital, due to the lost of blood as a result she died shortly after. Her last words was "I love you" to her daughter. Life is so short and fragile. The wicked and evil do violence on the innocent! she just celebrated her wedding anniversary yesterday and today she is gone. Rest in Peace Irene Ong. May the Lord Bless n keep your soul from any more harm. May your life now be full of joy n love!!! my deepest sympathies to her husband, her two daughters, her family and her friends.

Looks like murder but I think its a robbery. These robbers are cowards and drug addicts most of the time and as they are afraid, normally they drink before they commit their robberies.... for some strength and more for some guts.... so when they confront you, a slight resistance they will panic and just stab and do whatever....

In 2008, my lady accountant got her new Camry robbed at 11.30pm along the dark road into the G&G section of Kota Kemuning. She is a small-sized lady and skinny that a strong wind can literally carry her away a few metres... yet after taking her mobile phone, take over her car and grabbed her handbag, they threw her into the big monsoon drain in Kota Kemuning.... huge drain like the one separating USJ4 and USJ9.... and she remembered the robber was slurring and smelled badly of "Guinness Stout.... is good for you...."

So if there is robbery, just give whatever they want lah, you can get them back but you have only 1 life...

No brainer to presume there'll be continuance of macam macam crime every hour, every day somewhere in this land. Whats not imagined before can happen or already happened somewhere. If not crime, its some tragedy somewhere... sad!
Gating up a residential neighborhood is now a minimal measure against crime within resident's ability. Its become a dead serious matter in these very challenging times. Anything can happen nowadays..be alert oso not enough!
In those days, one could be mugged at some lonely street or some random street gangster, now one is vulnerable to being mugged or traumatized at your car while stationary at some busy traffic light junction...scary or still imaginary or not?
Another Colombia or Mexico this side of Asia in the making. I weep for Malaysia!
