Give to local, probably collapsed by now ... looked at the number of hospital ceilings falling down, leaky roofs in new buildings ... need I say more ...

That is why I avoid the SMART tunnel now if I can ...

I know this interchange - it was built on peat soil. Peat is a very soft soil and would not support any heavy structures like a highway interchange unless there is sufficient and expensive piling done to support the concrete structures. Ever since this interchange was built and delivered, they have been doing numerous remedial works. Fortunately that interchange was already closed for many months for remedial works.

Chang, I am rather surprise such comment came from you...!!

Unless you are an expert in structural geology and bridge construction, you are no different with anyone (myself included) who know nothing about why and how the bridge collapsed. If you do not possess professional knowledge in this area, whatever your comment about ''what you know about this bridge" is pure speculating also..

The fact that you know the bridge was built on peat soil means nothing .. It is like every tom dick and harry can say they know why the buildings around Sunway collapse because the buildings were built on ex-mining land !!

My point is - Apart from natural disaster like earth quake and landslide, a bridge SHOULD NOT collapse no matter what type of soil it was built on. All these adverse conditions should have been taken into consideration when designing and building a bridge, and the construction of the bridge followed strictly the required specifications by competent contractors..

I did travel to Putra Jaya "often" (like a few times in a year) to attend some boring meetings with DOE and I believe I have used the road underneath the flyover before..
