My all time favourite is Kit Kat...

Kit Kat is nice and because of the wafer, it comes in handy when you are hungry but dinner is not yet ready !!..

I am more obsessed with chocolate without the wafer...

Chocolate is something I used to like eating al lot when young, but now an occasional treat for reasons I know best. Ain't no connoisseur nor discerning taste buds for very fine chocolates. Kalau ada..makan lah..

Cadbury, those made in Australia and the UK. Shah Alam made Cadbury chocolates don't taste as good. Why? Beats me! Kit Kat? I love Kit Kat even those made locally. They taste great all the time! Have you tried the Kit Kat Chunky Peanut Butter?!? OMG, every bite is indescribably heavenly!!

It dawns on me even for some established foreign brand food product, they change the age old or traditional recipe to suit local consumption and taste buds. Palm oil or more sugar is a usual thing. Blardi hell..even this we're somewhat shortchanged, (u know what I mean). What do they take us for...people who're lesser humans than others in developed land or we're all less prone to medical
complications? Yes, I'm somewhat irked by all this, I don't know about others who may tolerate all this crap.

They do that all the time don't they? Palm oil? I don't know. I have my reservations as far as it concerns pleasing one's palate.

Well...its often I may notice this ingredient in the fine print. Confectioners in other developed places (maybe not all) will not use this oil. I think there's politics or nationalist policies behind this all.. Palm oil in this region, soya oil or others in other places.

Don't know lah but oil that is reddish (palm oil's original color) is off-putting to me.

Yup the local chocolates do taste different from the imported ones. And yes you can taste the difference. The price is 12 plus for a bar of imported cadbury versus 7/8 ringgit for a locally produced one

Locally made chocolates lack the chocolaty "ummmphf", perhaps no thanks to the use of palm oil, amongst others.

Nothing's like something supernatural to spice up the afternoon. Last I checked, vampires needed your approval before they could enter your house. If you don't believe me, check out the TV series True Blood, which by the way, is an arse-kicking TV series about vampires, werewolves and fairies and a cutie named Sookie. Hate to give any spoilers so I won't say anymore about Sookie.

Yup, I don’t agree with palm oil being used in making chocolate.. for the taste.

However, palm oil is healthier oil compares to other oil/lipid. I was being told and convinced by numerous research literatures.


Ps. In my line of work, I get involve a bit in biodiesel and the bio element in biodiesel is extracted from plam oil.

So it is true. Anything that doesn't taste good is good for you health! Another example being the bitter herbal drink "wong loh kat". As a kid, I was 'scared' to drink wlk as the grown ups kept telling me how bitterly terrible it tasted and it is, only it isn't as bad as I had thought or led to believe. Still, that's a damn bitter drink!

Just becareful of some traders who used to put Panadol in Wong loh kat. I should know because this one Mr Wong Loh Kat has been buying stocks more than the clinics regularly from one pharmacy in Ipoh. And i was the the supplier from Sterling Drug. Some Chinese druggist also put more potent analgesic than Panadol into Sei Tham ( snake bile pills) to relieve "Heatiness" when you have cold and fever. These were prescription drugs with side effects if not given to the right patients.

Panadol is made of paracetamol which is one of the most bitter drug and it makes you sweat. So, if you drink adulterated WLK, and you sweat, it might be Panadol instead of herbal grasses.

The taste is more rich I feel and its not an illusion. Even the milo that is produced in australia tastes different from that produced in malaysia. A kilo tin costs about 40 plus ringgit whilst a malaysian one costs less than 20 i think. I think its because of the duties also it is priced higher.
