Next time when you are in Ipoh , drink Oldtown Kopi and buy Hovid. Betul itu dia from Ho Yan Hor herbal tea when you get too heaty. They got patented rights to the palm oil extract in supplement pills to carotene oil for Masak. Heck it was even in the highlight back in 2000's at US Wall Street where Badawi was there to promote Palm oil goodness.

In the dictionary of the mean olde chef who believes in these cooking oily stories -For references else where, kindly consult your certified medical advisors.

1. Palm oil for deep frying or flying wok with intense and prolonged heats - Palm Oil with its high breaking point smoking point where molecules structural changes compared to other oils

2. Olive oil for salad and quickie pan sauteed low heat - proven benefits with essential green power of oxidation but not be used for extended high temperature cooking as the benefits can be reversed instead. Definitely kenot be used to deep fired sotong

3.Peanut oils - Flavorsome oils to sensationalize taste and aroma but could be potentially health hazzards for those who consumed too much.

4.Corn oils - Comparative ti palm oils but expensive here. But still, I believe it is less healthier compared to palm oil due to the chemicals usage in farming production. Moreover, it sound corny as Masanto is also the majotrplayer ijn the production lines where maizes farming would be insecticided. And me support KLK as it is from Ipoh Mali and I buy Malaysia first with solid tree backing in organic farming prototype.

5.Soybeans oils - The high-proportion of oxidation-prone linolenic acid is undesirable for some uses, such as cooking oils though in the past in hasd been marketed by major companies like Mosanto by altering the compositions to make it safer but still was disputed to be health hazzards. But it is being widely use in industrial food productions, pastry and baking cakes. I dont use it for frying or baking but to make my skin silky soft like tofu by drinking it wholesomely from boiled but not baked. Yeah, shaken but not stirred like zero zero seven;s martini.

6..Tiger Balm Oil - traditonally oils for rubbing for minor skin irrations and No No for cooking.

7. Snake oils - yeah, the types where salesman who sells it in the pasar malam or multi level marketing that promise you the glittering effects of Genneva impressions with micracle health claims. So far, I can see those salesman wealthy with those claims instead of healthy consumers.

Anyway, for a good feel question: other than virgin and/or deflowered olive oil, can any other oil be used for body massage? I mean this is a serious question as those 100ml of arty farty branded 'massage oil' in speciality store costs an arm & a leg! It is also kinda weird if one was to smell like a walking peanut or a corn or canola or swine or cow afetr a nice oily full body massage...Whats good for the skin, might be a stinky body odour repellent for others!

But never use Cap minyak Kapak, Cap minyak Naga or those with Chilli infused oil

Other than that, nothing beats more economical Pure Olive Oil - and it dun have to me Extra virgin or virgin olive oil. Mkae no sense like using mineral water or distilled water to wash your Ferrari.

Lato, maybe you just want to follow me. Dont care...try to avoid the more extreme items like oink oink, fat, fried stuff but otherwise anything goes but in moderation.....and exercise alot. As pointed out in the earlier links, the oils high in unsaturates should not
be deep fried as they are unstable :

Canola (oleic acid, omega 9, monounsaturate),
Soya (oleic and linoleic acid, omega 6, polyunsaturate)
Corn (oleic and linolenic acids)
Safflower (oleic and linolenic acids)
Sunflower (oleic and linolenic acids)


Frying them basically superheats the oils, breaking down the unsaturates
and oxidizing them. Entering your blood stream, they clump together your platelets.
As explained in the Shirley Wellness link quoting John Thomas's "Young Again: How
To Reverse The Aging Process" book, this is going to cause a host of degenerative
diseases like glaucoma, where the platelets have a hard time entering the tiny
capillaries of the eye's posterior, resulting in the death of the cells' mitochondria there.

Alzheimer's is also going to come in when the CA1 and CA3 regions of the hippocampus,
where short term memories are stored, dies off.


This won't happen with palm oil which has a high content of the saturated fat,
palmitic acid, stabilizing the almost equally high content of unstable unsaturated
oleic acid and smaller proportion of linoleic acid.

The same with coconut oil with its high content of saturated fatty lauric acid,
along with some myristic and palmitic acid, easily overriding the small amounts
of oleic and linoleic acids.
