Scorpenes Bought To Avoid Repeat of 1511 Portuguese Invasion

5 Centuries late....but Better Late Then Never....

"RMN chief:.....the move was to prevent a repeat of the 1511 episode when the Portuguese armada attacked and seized the port city of Malacca, famous for being the trading hub in Southeast Asia, at the time."

The Navy will deploy the Scorpene attack submarines in a defensive role.

Read the rest of the report....Malaysian Insider

Next we must get this [below]....then we will be really safe?....or at least make good use during peaceful times

Ludicrous reasoning if you asked me.
All need is ONE or a few scuds flying off from somewhere and landing on some populated area...you think gahmen prepared for the aftermath?

This fellow have never heard of air strikes and cruise missiles.

He could at least find a better justification.

He got orders to say something good about the submarines... But he's better off not saying anything if this is the best he can do...

The Naval commander apparently did not studied the Art of War and probably a graduated from the Art of Silap.

During the World War 2, one or two HMS British warships guarding the Malaya waters were sunk by the Japanese with air raids on the way, it was all over where they just bicycled through from Thailand.

So what can the Sub do to prevent attack? But credits have to be given to the imaginary thoughts of the commander of Malaysian Royal Nuts where he is comparing battle scenerio where the Scorpene Sub being attack by 16th century of the Portugese armada led by Captain Cristiano Ronaldo or Pirates of Carribean played by Jack Separuh.

I guess part of some creativity include absurdity, ludicrous and preposterous spin and blatant idiocy in the eyes of the world.

A stealth bomber flying at 50,000 ft above sea level can lay waste Melaka in minutes. A submarine can help to deter an invasion because large movement of troops need ships.
