Buying a continental car....

If I have a million dollar car I would take speeding tickets as a necessary evil just like having to pump petrol and service the car. To heck with the fines, unless of course the thing is linked to our driving license , then if you accumulate 3/4 speeeding tickets your license is suspended. In our bolehland anythng can happen. Records can get wiped out ala attantuya. So what is there to worry unless your maker decides it is time for your to go because you have been speeding too much.

Imagine a light tap on the accelerator and within a few seconds you are in 'fine' territory. How to drive like that? Better to buy the one liter mondeo then.

If the budget is less than 300k, than a 2 liter Volvo S60 is a good choice. The car is stunningly beautiful and powerful.. plus all the comfort and safety features that only available in a premium car..

One good thing about buying new conti car now is – they provide rather generous coverage in after-sales due to competition. 5 years warranty and 5 year free maintenance is coomon. The OEM or car dealer actually buy insurance to cover the extended warranty. So only a small amount of extra costs are shared between the car buyer and dealer.

Among all the continental cars, I like the present Volvo as I am impressed by their Scandinavian design philosophy – "beautifully simple and simply beautiful ". It is just my personal preference as I like minimalist design and Scandinavian is synonymous with that.

I was looking at the latest S60 spec - really better than those in the same category ! Why is there not many buyers?

I went for a test drive with S60, after that I knew why it is not selling well. People are buying a car to use, not buying its specification.

I tried a few other cars.

A4 S line was really good; good road holding and very impressive brake. I wish I could buy, but my better half said Audi as second hand car not so valuable.

The latest BMW 5 series is very comfortable, a lot of safety features - very safe for senior driver.
