There was an armed robbery along USJ23/5B on Tuesday 07/08/2012 at 7.45am.
4 masked robbers all armed with parangs entered the unlocked gate of a house along USJ23/5B with 1 robber standing guard outside.
They proceeded to ushered 4 of the victims into a room. The son of the owner who was taking a shower, was not spared, they broke down the bathroom door and at “parang point” forced the boy into the room with the other 4.
The whole house was ransacked and all valuables were taken.
We understand from the victims that there were Chinese and Malays in the group, and from the way they barked their orders these are all locals. No other details were available. A Polis Report has since been made at Balai Polis Putra Heights.
These are the same guys that robbed a house along USJ11/3C, three weeks back (the victim was a friend of mine).
It would seem that unless the Guards of so called Gated and Guarded areas are more vigilant residents will continue to be “marked as potential victims”. To everyone else, please be extra careful during this festive period, report all suspicions to the Polis immediately. (Please refer to the Polis numbers indicated at the end of this email.)
There will be no official launch of the Balik Kampung Rumah Selamat Campaign this Raya, but the Polis have assured us that they will continue to support our efforts at Crime Prevention during the festive period.
So, if you are going away for the holidays make sure you report your absence to the Polis. SJ Alert will activate the usual On-Line Services for Balik Kampung Rumah Selamat by the end of the week.
