I am trying to take photographs again after suffering from an eye infection for 3 months. I am on the last few days of medication. Anyway, in Bali now so here are some pictures.

Nice! I esp like the 1st and 4th ones.![]()
That must hv been one terrible eye infection to hv lasted so long. Hope you're having a good time in Bali.![]()
Insecurity is unattractive. Smile and the whole world smiles with you.
It was a cornea infection and that usually takes a longer time to heal. The last one was in 1986 which took most of my sight away so this time, most of it in my left eye is gone. But nobody notices it because it still looks like a normal eye. Anyway, still got one good eye left.
Had food poisoning when I tried nasi minang. Tasted good but paid a price for it.
I like 1 and 4 too. Thanks.
These are from the Sanur beach. Not their best beaches.

Hope yr eyes recover fully soon.
I think so too. Confession time. I took 2 workshops on photography from a professional. After the workshop, he took us for a photo shoot walkabout. We copied what he did as he tried to translate what he said in the workshop into realities. It was an eye opener for me because I suddenly understand the difference between a good touristy snap shot and a good photograph. So, all along I was taking good snap shots but not good photographs.
In the first posting, #2 and #3 were directed by him to help us understand about contrast. For #3, I would have taken the photo straight into the face instead of pointing it down from a higher angle to focus on the flower. This is such a common statue with flowers on top all over Bali but yet, his eyes could see and composed this angle. Like he repeatedly said, "you made the photograph" (a famous photographer said that.) I am beginning to understand that statement.
Anyway, coming to your suggestion, there were many boats berthed at low tide but he spotted this little boat and all the group members took off their shoes and socks and waded to the little boat, except me. I volunteered to look after everybody's shoes. So, the shot was taken from afar. The rest had a fun time taking it close up and from various angle. Poor me, standing there.![]()
ya most will teach to see and compose before looking through the viewfinder and click away. with the fishy in hand, you should be the one getting your feet wet
..........any reason why he chose that little boat amongst so many?

yeap that's one of the cue so it's easier to isolate the subject and not get messy backgrounds![]()
