Really? I've come across people who think its always the best solution to hire someone to do these jobs however menial it may be. Of course if dealing with replacing switches, install new fan, lamps, new wiring, new electrical points...a competent electrician will be the answer. I do nearly everything for my home, save for plaster ceiling (even then I installed all the cornices and lighting wiring before the ceiling went up) and iron grills. Very recently, DIY replaced the water tank float valve and check for any potential leakage. Annual washing of water tank is about due.
Hired labor or expertise is quite expensive nowadays.. Gahmen's hi-income encouragement?
I try to be a handyman as I wanted to do the floor tiiling and renovation for one of the pigeon hole home but wifey said " stick to your woks, pots and pans ".![]()

Well there are certain stuff where you surrender after trying to DIY and it still doesn't work. Or we may have to hire bslee instead.
A wise man refrains from talking but a fool utters rubbish.
Actually I have plan to do some floor tiling. 2 areas, the waste disposal area at the gate and the back alley (outside my back gate) so it'll look very nice, could even turn as very nice backyard" area. Put a couple of outdoor chairs and have some coffee...err teh tarik during some evenings. Yes, WHY NOT BEAUTIFY you back area? I don't think MPSJ is about to penalize you for beautifying the back area, not that you're putting up some serious obstruction or illegal construction.
Wait till I find some lot of good tiles at some "warehouse/cheap sale" Not that difficult.
Anything "man" can do..YOU can also do. Ultimately you MUST have the right tools for the job.
Errr.. am very very sorry... Bslee not for hire..prefer tokking kok here.![]()
Boleh ajar tak? I wanna to prove to my wifey if any man can do it, Mean Olde Chef can do it too! I can belanja Teh Tarik or my special coffee Pop and I throw in some USA Sushi roll or Bananarama as well!![]()

Cannot!..why? because I'm a perfectionist... perfectionists rarely offer their services..
Example: I paint my walls sloooooooowly and very carrrrrrrefully with a 4" BRUSH...your highly paid kontraktor use some cheap roller and finish the job by sundown...
Surely you people may have seen my past "furniture restoration works" thread long ago and the results I personally achieved... all SLOooooooooooowly done with TLC!
In youtube.com, Kenot Percaya.
Try doing the fried rice recipe like what they are showing - it doesnt come with the right taste or texture.
In fact, once I tried to be handy and try youtube to mend my leaking fish tank - it still leaked despite doing it twice on two separate viewings!![]()

Harlow friend... laying tiles and cooking fried lice is 2 DIFFERENT sciences and NOT THE right analogy for comparison! The technique and tile laying fundamentals is entirely the same anywhere. The use of the right tools and materials is fundamental.
As for leaky fish tank, you do NOT attempt FIRST AID repairs by patching here n there!..This kind of repair is temporary and UNguaranteed! you have to dismantle everything and adhere them together with a high quality silicone adhesive from scratch!
BTW, your friendly hardware shop certainly have stock of proper tile adhesive cement (blended solely for laying tiles). This is NOT the same as PORTLAND cement which is used for general construction. Lots of CONtraktors use ordinary cement because its cheapest. Go consult your friendly hardware dealer.
my apologies to serigala ... one side comment on my part and we get these 2 flers yakking non-stop on this thread.
Please keep to the plight of serigala and get him/her some contacts la
Yakking ah? ITS WHEN THIS thread gets interesting with yakking that'll more people come in and look, perhaps some kind soul will kindly suggest a contact!
I KNOW !!! That is WHY I "TRUST" your QC workmanship mah ....![]()

Instead of hiring any unknown koboi, I rather give it to you to do (if you want lah, of course!!) ... just like I know that the SS19/6 Beauty House uncle who restore furniture, I have seen how he work, he really loves what he is doing etc .... how much he charges I don't query coz I know he is putting his best effort and heart and soul into it !!
