Repairs that I could revive and save money
Racket mosquito electric zapper.
These thingys mostly don't last long and just stop working in due course.
I experimented repair one that stopped working. Had to, because its mosquito galore this hot season. Got it back to work by replacing the internal battery with something thats more powerful and reliable. Charge it up and Voila! no need to buy new. Working BETTER than it was new. It works exactly as new, charging in the same manner as before. Those ori batteries are shittty quality, they just die so soon.
A new one cost something like Rm12-15 and made in PRC. It doesn't make economical sense sending to some technician to repair, buying new seems the most economical thing to do...UNLESS DIY! Just think whats the fair price a technician would be charging?. certainly way above a new unit. People aren't going to do anything for 5 bucks. Certainly NOT spending 30-50mins of their precious time to repair something worth RM15 and breathing in LEAD SOLDER fumes. I politely requested a friend who told me he had many non working ones lying around and to give me a one of them FOC, since its dead. I revived it and now I have 2. One for upstairs, one for downstairs. Not bad eh?
Bro, u mean u simply opened it up, replaced the old chargeable china-batry wit a new rechargeable one? Bought from where? Pudu shop? the one u shown me b4?

p/s Take all the above with a XL salted duck egg, wash down with 2fingers of sodium hypochoride, and suck on to a pebble size tmn negara Rock salt
Basically thats the idea.. assuming the internal electronics is still ok. I just try the repair, if it still doesn't work, then bin it.
There's one simple way, buy a 2 AA battery holder from electronics shop with a couple of AA rechargeable batteries.
Downside is, a pair of AA rechargeable batteries cost more than the swatter!. Good thing is, the batts you buy may last much longer than those inferior originals.
BTW, being cheapo as it is, when opening, the flimsy internals may fall off easily. Takes some patience and good hands to re-fix it all back in good order. Yes, its a flimsy cheapo plasticky thing you're dealing with.
