If not mistaken and some close observation in the preparation, one key ingredient into CKT is adding a lil cockle blood into it during the frying process.
Thank you all who tried to answer my question based on curiosity and hearsay about the integrity of local cockles in the market. Personally, I don't consume cockles anywhere or anytime. I could never like or eat it from very young.

Medically speaking, there is no F:

    hepatitis F (HF),
a hypothetical virus linked to hepatitis, possibly a mutation of the hepatitis B virus. The most recent finding was in 1994, when novel viral particles were discovered in the feces of posttransfusion patients without hepatitis A, B, C, or E. When injected into the bloodstream of rhesus monkeys, these particles caused hepatitis. When further investigations failed to confirm the existence of the virus, it was delisted as a cause of infectious hepatitis. Also called Toga virus. http://medical-dictionary.thefreedic...om/hepatitis+F

So, hypothetically, you are exposed to HF if you excessively consume cockles..!

Anyway, just a reminder.. vaccinations do not guarantee immunity. When a relative died of hepatoma as a result of hepatitis B, the entire family was advised to get their jabs. Not all responded with the desired results. The only positive result was the Dr. became slightly richer.

Nothing is guaranteed in life except death and taxes. After the vaccinations, one must take a blood test to know whether there is immunity or the strength of it. Even if there is immunity, there is no guarantee that one will not get hepatitis. Such is life.

Have you checkout the curry mee in Glenmarie, near Puspakom? Very good curry but no cockles.

Goodyear Court Tien Tien Fatt coffee shop. Order only if you see the guy there. If he is not around, it will not be worth your while. He is definitely there during lunch.

Ah....someone else noticed the difference....I thought it was only me being partial to the guy's frying

Ask him to add some 'chee yok char'....and you get a CKT like in the old days

Chicken cuisine. Surprisingly, while looking for the name, I found that McCurry is also around the area. I am not sure whether it is related to the well-known McCurry in Sri Muda. Anyway, more reasons to go to Glenmarie now, other than for Puspakom.

since u oledi there, can try the dried pan mee inside the opposite corner coffee shop ... a surprise find and I like it. As for the nearby Meng Kee char siew, actually I prefer the one at sri muda better.
