According to the article/source, funds are supposed to be from abroad but instead it is gonna be setup with local funds , the source also finds it strange that Malaysian institutions are being asked to bankroll this 'new' bank.....

Perhaps 'nobody' has any confidence in the the whole scam err... I meant, scheme.... especially after the NFC scandal

Surely the kwsp board (esp the #1 & #2) will be replaced (contract no longer auto-renew) sooner than later, all for saying 'nay' too often to duh 1Gomen & apanamakutty...

Korek. Islamic banking supposely to be interest free but it seems that there is a lot of vested interest and bulldoze interests. Anyway, Petronas is the master banker with x perience - having bailing out Bank Bumi until it get disappearance act from Bolehland.

How can bnm be involved in the establishment of a commercial bank which would compete with other commercial banks. Would there not be a conflict of interest.? Its just like states asking for investments from the private sector to develop hotels and what nots and then building its own hotels and instructing all the gomen sectors that they must use only the state hotels. Does not make sense to me.

In Bolehland , apa pun boleh. The only thing tak boleh is Bersih! In fact, it amaze me when the KWSP is using funds to buy up properties in overseas rather in Malaysia. Would it benefits the workers here or workers in overseas? Moreover, the investment records in overseas have had not shown to be profitable as seen from the collasped of our Tourism Malaysia investment arms to others speculative investments from tin fiasco in London to banking BMF in Hong kONG.

this plan doesn't make economy sense unless it's only to enrich someone but not the nation, or just to make up the number for ETP, why would petronas want to run a new bank? why not strengthen existing islamic bank like BIMB, Muamalat and etc ?
