Malaysia most vulnerable to economic ‘perfect storm’, says Dr Doom....Roubini Global Economics (RGE) has said in a recent report.

Dr Roubini says: "Malaysia is one of the most vulnerable Asian economies should a “perfect storm” of a disorderly debt default in Europe, a slowdown in China and the US, and rising tensions in the Middle East materialise"

"RGE added that Malaysia was the second most exposed in terms of a demand slowdown in the US, the eurozone and China, making it the most exposed Asian economy overall. The report also said that the country was among the lowest ranked in terms of monetary and fiscal capacity to respond to a crisis"

Bro, notice the tiny red dot city isn't on the list? Why do you think they are not "exposed"? Thought they would be, being an open economy. be exposed to PRC if not US and EZ?

    best to buy S$, no?

To be fair...we are in the same basket as japan etc...
“...Malaysia, Taiwan, South Korea and Vietnam appear to be the most exposed to a perfect storm through their trade and financial linkages, while South Korea, Australia, Vietnam and the Philippines appear to have the most policy space to offset such an external shock,” said RGE.

“Taking these two factors together, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan and Thailand are the most vulnerable of the 10 economies considered in this analysis, while Australia, India, South Korea and the Philippines are the least.
    ”...

I suppose you can assume that they would be exposed too, but not listed in the Top Ten

They would score in the 'Trade Exposure' but who knows,..... their 'Financial Exposure' score might be in the 'positives' [or is that negative as per this chart?]....giving them an overall score that rocks

What's surprising is Indonesia isn't it?

No,No,No....Don't hold paper, unless you are looking for a short term gain.....just the right amount to tide over for enough gains to cover your daily 'liquid requirements'.....and a bit extra come X'mas

And if you are into paper - its still the $USD for now.

That is why it was Greece busted by July without the year. It could be 2012 or 2021 whichevver comes first.

Meanwhile, look at the world market zoomed....instead of kaboomed.

None of the above ...this is the main problem when people make headings using time - eventually it gets out-dated and irrelevant. It is going to involve some work if I try to extract specific content to a new thread with a better heading....no promises, depends on how busy I am

My post is directed to Zing… I think it is clear that I am having a morning joke with him.

Stay away especially you have mentioned non-stop that you are busy…

I am not inviting you to change his thread or asking your opinion of how difficult to alter the thread…and certainly nobody is asking your promise..

Spend your time wisely… otherwise your symptoms of not enough time aka busy will always there..

Perhaps you should attend courses or read books on time management..!!

I read this cartoon in the newspaper. The theme is the Olympics, obviously.

One guy was handing over the Olympic torch to the other guy and said it is from Athens. After doing that he cautioned the other guy to be careful with it because the torch haven't been paid for.

FYI, no user can change the content or the title once it had been posted after half an hour and I was only making a point about using appropriate titles. My apologies if advice is inappropriately administered

Reuters Exclusive: U.S. banks told to make plans for preventing collapse

    Quote:
"(Reuters) - U.S. regulators directed five of the country's biggest banks, including Bank of America Corp and Goldman Sachs Group Inc, to develop plans for staving off collapse if they faced serious problems, emphasizing that the banks could not count on government help."
