EPF's buyout portion in KFCH and QSR will be around RM1.26bil

Is EPF meant for old age contributors or mean for ailing company?

Now, should I reduce my contribution for the betterment of my old age.

How did u withdraw so much?

Anyway, I sort of hv faith in EPF before this, and has increased my total contribution to 30%, I hv a friend hv a total contribution of 57% leaving just enough for daily expenses. For people like me who is not good in investment, EPF seems to be a viable option for retirement planning.

However, looking at the way things are going, Najib seems to be doing everything and anything at all cost to maintain his power. Since he is running the government, whatever he did, doing, at the end of the day, there is only one loser- the rakyat- the tax payers, EPF cotributors, may be later the SOCSO contributors.

The risk of leaving your money (if it is your choice) is that they might change the laws e'g' instead of allowing you to withdraw the entire amount at 55 they might extend the retirement age to say 60 and you can only take all of it out when you are 60 or they might convert your entire sum to a pension scheme. It can all be done with a stroke of the pen and if you are depending on the money for a specific purpose then you are screwed.
