Am thinking of getting one but still undecided. Any views or opinions?
Thank you.

Firstly, the screen size is already a big difference - 10" vs 7.7" ... why not Tab 10?
Apart from the reports of overheating and poor indication of battery levels in the iPad, I would still go for the iPad due to its superior construction and Apple's apparently strong controls and checks on all applications uploaded on iTunes. I understand that Android apps do not have this level of control and there is always a chance of downloading malicious code from the unmoderated apps.
My concern with iPad is the glass screen - is it Gorilla glass? Sure would be a disaster if the screen breaks easily
If you need to ask, then it's most likely the Ipad 3 for you.
With an Android....you'd better know how to in charge of the tablet rather than the other way round. For reasons already mentioned by kwchang.

I don't think so...in the past Apple has worked with Corning on its iphones....nothing on ipads. Even Steve Jobs' autobiography also non-plussed about it...
Anyways...here's what the ipad can do....watch this video and enjoy!

In case readers thought I have erred in my assertion that the ipad does not use Corning's gorilla glass, here's a link for my hesitation....

Seems to me that the usual thing to do whether the glass is toughened or not, is that one would put a screen protector over it. Gorilla glass is neither scratchproof or unbreakable anyway.
Gorilla glass, from Corning, IS scratch-proof. That's why Apple has it on their IPHONES......people put their phones in pockets, handbags etc together with other stuff...all liable to scratch each other. Steve Jobs was livid about this and went and search for the toughest screen for his iphones...and choose Corning's gorilla glasses - do a wiki on gorilla glass for details....
Tablets (ipads and androids versions) may not have gorilla glass, except Asus' transformers....
Cheers!

I say sir, don't be taken in by all that marketing talk. There is nothing in the world that is scratch proof. Even a diamond surface can be scratched.
The correct term is Scratch Resistant (meaning it is MORE resistant to scratches than plain glass). If you are so confident your iPhone screen is scratch proof.....rub some sand on it and see what happens. Why do you think iPhone and iPad screen protectors are a multimillion dollar business? Because owners are aware they need to protect the gorilla glass!
By the way, even my cheap Kindle Fire has gorilla glass. What's the big deal about gorilla glass? It's just a feature and not critical to the operational capabilities of the device.
