A gathering session for the forumers and a politician launch his book.. I don’t see any link between this two ??

I would prefer to attend a book launching in a book shop, not in a coffee shop or bistro..!!

And I will definitely prefer to attend a get-together session without the book or whatever launching held together..!!

I have split out some unconnected issues and placed it in "Some old politics in USJ" in the Chatterbox. Please keep this thread on the topic of the book launch and not digress elsewhere. Thank you

I understand your sentiments. As I had said, if there are hidden agendas in the gathering, we just say thankyou and goodbye. However, I am prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt and it is for PCYeoh to pass the message back to Datuk Lee (if Datuk is too busy to check this Forum). If the gathering fizzles out due to political agendas, then it is not our problem ... as far as I understand from post #1, it is just a TT session for "old times' sake".

I am there to meet up with members of this Forum. Would be glad to meet you face-to-face and have a chat over coffee. This is what community gatherings are for. If we don't like the atmosphere, we can always go to the nearby coffee shop to continue on for our own community's get-to-know-each-other sake. I hope SiangMalam comes, long time haven't met him.

Ofcourse, we were not born yesterday ... but I would also like to give Datuk Lee the benefit of my doubts. So he has to keep it simple, just for his book and a gathering of USJ forum friends, nothing else.

I remember Jeff came back to host a TT session way back in 2008. He promoted his book back then (just like this coming session as promised by PCYeoh) and as far as I remembered, it was not too much political. It was more a gathering of old friends for old times' sake.

So let us keep it that way this time around....

To make it even more transparent and save everyone's time, I suggest PCYeoh (who started all this) make a declaration in this thread to tell us if there are other agendas. If there are, it would save us all our time on a Saturday afternoon. PC, the success of the TT session is in your hands. This is only a simple request

regardless of the agenda...I will still be there to shake the now seemingly untied hand. For old time sake maybe 2min, may 12, certainly not more than 32mins...also While the tt and sandwich are good, I can afford my own. TQVM.

AND i hope dato Lee 'now hands not tied' WBeng can recall his past words (something liddat lah) "I know Sjaya folks wont attend a function for the free food. They attend to try make a difference in their community..."etcetc blahblahbalh

Making a political comeback or purely book launching? But that One culprit lurking around again and going back to support "old friend" is making things looking strange...

Now is 1.30pm, another 1.5 hours to 3pm..

Still no response to your suggestion, Mr, moderator.

I think it is good to keep the event soley to book launching...

I certainly hope the event is just about the book and if it is for charity, I will buy one.
As for the thread starter, he was last in the Forum on 20 April around 2:15pm but he did not post any reply ... heeheehee I would like to see how the TT session turns out.

Hope to meet some of you. SiangMalam last posted very early this morning from Penang, so I don't think he can be here.

Well, the gathering went well and it had no MCA/BN politicians.

We had a good crowd as you can see ...

Datuk Lee signed the books - he promised that the collection will go to charity ... quite a number was sold immediately

It was good to meet the members again, although most were familiar faces. "Uncle" Choopy was on hand with his pro-gear ... hope he can share some of his shots which will be much better than mine here
    We ended at 4:45pm

Was the last to check in, so missed all the juicy bits Datuk Lee shared with all present.
Managed to get my autographed copy of his book.
Was lucky to snap some shots before the TT session ended.

eh, once it was established that the sale would be donated to charity, we all bought the book la. How can we ask for a free book when the money could benefit a charity. All of us are quite good about donating to charities, so no questions asked. Tupai stayed for the whole duration (1hr45mins) altho he said he will stay only for 12mins. That says a lot of the company we had.

By the way, it was suggested that we should revive our own (no Datuk Lee) TT session at the same place (Pizza vs Satay) in USJ11/3 on Sunday afternoons. The drinks are reasonable and it is a nice place with air-conditioning too. How about it?
