Rhiga-san my friend, I have always respected your strong stance on lotsa issues and I still do Mr Sagamihara-san! However, I beg to differ in this case...

I think you are arguing yourself into a corner simply because you generalize from a position of stereotyping the politicians especially lumping every politikus in Pakatan Rakyat into one and the same basket...

Let's face it... people like Lim Kit Siang and his son Lim Guan Eng, they are not in for the money! That I know and I can attest to personally! I have travelled with the father several times to visit the son in Kajang prison when the latter was jailed for the Printing Press & Publication Act conviction for coming to the aid of an underage Malacca girl... I knew them inside out... we have shared the tears together on many occasisons.... and I remember the day the son appeared with his glasses with only one lens and the other broken but refused replacement by the Kajang prison officer! Or the time he saw his son squatting down in the prison yard holding his food tray waiting for his ration like a dog begging for food... so I must stand up now and say you are wrong to lump all PR politicians as not there for the cause but for their own benefits...

I had refused to join this thread because its emotional and many of the arguments are emotional stuff and some rehashed from Malaysiakini / Malaysian Insider articles... you have your points but I just have to disagree with you and a few others about some politicians being not sincere in their cause!

    Bro,

I think you have misunderstood my points..

I am on the same page with you as far as recognizing veteran opposition leaders like Lim Kit Siang, Dr. Chen Man Hin are concerned.

The whole thing started from CS Chua post (#22) when he said – all politicians cheat, all people are in politics for money, and quality of politician is less important to a 2 party system..

I responded with my post (#25) to throw challenges to him – ask him how he arrived to the conclusion that all politicians cheat. Can he tells me when and how genuine politicians like Lim Kit Siang/Teresa Kok/Chen Man Hin cheats ??

I also told him not all people look at money only – there are genuine people who look at other aspects of life not just money alone. There are people who don’t look at money because they already have money, people like Zaid Ibrahim, people like Tony Phua, etc

I also stressed that quality of a politician is a very important attribute because once the opposition is full of politicians with low quality and full of supporters who don’t mind the low quality.. then the neutral voters will think there is no different between opposition and bn.

    Hope the above clarify.

I sincerely hope the genuine opposition leaders rule and bring changes to this blessed land.

Ps. With due respect, nothing personal against CS Chua. We all want the same thing eventually for this country.. and I learn a lot from his insight on property investment..

Apologies Rhiga-san for having misunderstood your poings.

CS Chua has also not missed his point, a two-party check-and-balance is important so that either side of the political divide in power do not abuse and break the constitutional rights of the people. But I would like to add that a two-party system filled up by idiots and nincompoops also no point - might as well have a dictatorship or a military regime!

The key to this coming elections is to vote for the right candidate and ensure a strong two-party system emerge or else we are all doomed! Just look at them... RM100,000 each time visit the mistress, some of us do not even earn that kind of money in an entire year slogging 9-5 in the office or factory site and a migrant Pakistani's daughter can earn that "lying around" - where is the justice man! Use my hard-earned income tax to go satisfy his own lust?? I hope they investigate and then again I know my hope is of no use. They will come out with some explanations...
