It is unreasonable to expect free education until tertiary level. However the government is obligated to provide good quality tertiary education at reasonable cost. In this respect, the government fails miserably. Not only are our public universities languishing at the academic bottom, there are insufficient universities. By right, there should be a state university for every state like: University of Penang, University of Perak, University of Kelantan, etc, etc. These universities should provide liberal arts and sciences courses. These universities should offer courses at reasonable cost like the current cost in public universities. I do not think our public universities are charging excessive tuition fees. They are very reasonable considering the fact that they are getting tertiary education.

Then there should be the specialist universities in technology, medical, computer science, etc for those who excels. And of course, finally, the private universities and colleges for the rich and those who thinks all government facilities are no good.

    Very well said.

Reasonable fees of RM2000 to RM4000 per annum with high standards.

This should be expected of a high quality nation.

Eventually they may think it is their right to pass all examinations because examinations are blocking them from getting a free degree. So, it will be like Bangladesh where cheating is expected to pass the exam.
