It is unreasonable to expect free education until tertiary level. However the government is obligated to provide good quality tertiary education at reasonable cost. In this respect, the government fails miserably. Not only are our public universities languishing at the academic bottom, there are insufficient universities. By right, there should be a state university for every state like: University of Penang, University of Perak, University of Kelantan, etc, etc. These universities should provide liberal arts and sciences courses. These universities should offer courses at reasonable cost like the current cost in public universities. I do not think our public universities are charging excessive tuition fees. They are very reasonable considering the fact that they are getting tertiary education.

Then there should be the specialist universities in technology, medical, computer science, etc for those who excels. And of course, finally, the private universities and colleges for the rich and those who thinks all government facilities are no good.

    Very well said.

Reasonable fees of RM2000 to RM4000 per annum with high standards.

This should be expected of a high quality nation.

Isn't this great. Another bunch of freeloaders. Everyone wants something but no one wants to foot the bills.

Do you think these fellas will appreciate something they can get so easy for free?

Eventually they may think it is their right to pass all examinations because examinations are blocking them from getting a free degree. So, it will be like Bangladesh where cheating is expected to pass the exam.

They may even think since passing exam and degree are basic rights…the next request will be a well-paying job as their basic right….

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Those fellas are too pamper, too narrow, too naive, too ignorant, too far behind to smell the real world…

Actually, there are plenty of good and free tertiary education in the World notably in UK, Europe and US.

And these varsities which offered free undergraduate and postgraduate studies will try ALL THEIR BEST to keep you there.....

The only question is – do you have what it takes to be offered a good and free education ??

ps. majority of these so-called undergraduates in local varsity should not be there in the 1st place, academically. They are there purely due to lucky draw....

One of the best education in college is life experience where students were doing part time job to pay for the education fees. It is called responsiblity, by the way.

My brother was given the airticket and Rm1,000 to fly all the way to New Zealand. That's it. Six months later, he was sending monies back. Fast forward 25 years later. His sons were flipping burgers since 16 years old as part time, till medical college where they have amassed savings for education fees and daily expenses to become certified doctors. One of them was the No2 student! And if they dont become doctors, they could be major in business or cook anything they wanna due to thier exposures in pre, peri, and post graduate life where they got free life education with pocket money.

I sokong for the graduates to demand for free college and free to lepak when they graduate.

Tax payers money has no better place to spend ??

Spend on bunch of academically not-qualified fellas and spend again for them to lepak after "completing" their studies ??

Nothing wrong in asking government to provide free education to the highest level for the rakyat. All the monies spent on lavish opening/closing ceremonies, govn staff parties at posh hotels, hosting apanama this and that for all countries to come FOC eat, stay and take home inflated priced gifts at some crap seminar or other etc n etc can be used to procure high class education for citizens free of charge. Why not?

They OVERSPEND and NEVER really prudent in their expenditure. Even if there's regulations to abide, it stays as regulations. NOTHING anyone can do about it except you know the obvious solution.
Their overspending and lavishness knows no bounds, they NEVER LEARN nor seen to do anything to rectify the issues.
All these money CAN be put to good use for the rakyat, but there seems no end to it all..they'd just continue spending like no tomorrow. Amazingly they're very capable of taking you to court or penalize you if you do not pay something owed to them eventhough the amount may seem chicken feed,....Errrrr.. not "chicken feed"...now very expensive actually... peanuts?
I'll NEVER believe its "rakyat didahulukan".. This will never ever be entirely true.

One thing is, if everything is free, the student may not take it seriously, just like those student who play around in secondary school learning nothing but just causing trouble.
