Proton Preve Is Out! Worth buying?

The report from initial test drive is very good. The only car below RM100K that can go sub-10 sec from 0-60 m/hr. Rigid strength, good NVH, 4 air bags, in-built GPS, and many more. Sounds too good to be true for RM75K.

    Worth buying?

Went to test drive the top model turbo charged Preve and it was a very disappointing experience. Good thing the SA belanca me and my wife a good duck rice lunch otherwise the whole trip is wasted. I cannot understand why the power is so lacking and the car vibrates so much when it is accelerating. My bumb and legs can feel the vibration. The engine sound is loud too. Even though I do not have a chance to try it on the highway, it is sufficient for me to change my mind about Preve.

Any car with turbo-charged features is meant to be driven fast or in spurts of high speed. Such sudden revving of the engine inevitably incurs some higher fuel consumption than normal sedate driving...

Thinking critically that one wants a car to be driven everyday to work/play etc. and along the way put food on the table for the family..Think about the everyday cost. I think it adds up...

Bear in mind, the car has just been launch and most motoring scribes has not given it a comprehensive review, just market hype...

This is not to distract you from buying the car if you so desire...Just putting on my thinking cap......

    Cheers!

What son was thinking of that but after I read the thread on Inspira, I told him to change his mind. The quality is so inconsistent. It is like playing lottery; most time you lose but every once a while, you get a good one.

ALAMAK !!! Like that, I am sticking with Perodua or have to "upgrade" to Vios or City then ... for my next car in 10 years time !!! (I am from the "same" school of thought as BSLee when it comes to cars) I will use my "Wira" until the day my mechanic tells me, ""Sorry Bro, NO MORE NEW SPARE PARTS AVAILABLE- junkyard time !!)

Aiseh man, join me and buy a 2002 Camry lah. This car will last another 10 years easily. Cheaper than the new Vios or City. The difference in price can use for maintenance for more than 10 years. And you got comfort, safety and prestige in return.

Just did a service on a 12 year old Kancil, it will go another 10 years easily. I would need to be very stupid to sell a reliable trouble free car
