I thought only the S100 could do that. Not bad. Lots of stuff to find out, eh Naka?
Have you tried out the manual functions on your cam yet? There is quite a bit of control over the camera if u take it off the full auto mode.

I have been reading about mirrorless cameras with inter-exchangeable lenses. When is a good time to switch, I wonder?

I read that the Olympus E-PL1, E-PL2 are good but I do not know. I think I will wait for the next generation of these cameras.
I made a big mistake today when I went out to town without my camera. A few bombs hit the Lee Garden Plaza and McDonald in Hatyai at 1 pm at the same time as those in Yala. A number of our delegates were in the same building but not on the same floor so they escaped unhurt. I was supposed to go there for lunch at the same time but this lady (met at the conference) insisted on looking for that famous wanton mee stall so I felt obliged to follow her. I guess that prevented possible injuries because McDonald was beginning to look good after one week of Thai food in Hatyai.
Anyway, I got a seat at a local shop and watched the whole thing for an hour, without my camera. Thick black smoke were bellowing out and fire engines and police were everywhere. I counted about 10 ambulances going in and out.

On another note, the Olympus EP-L1 was on sale for US$200 inclusive of one lens. It was on sale some days ago.

I travel 160 days a year but I resigned after coming back from the States so I will have time to smell the flowers now. Yes, it was a close call for us. One of our participants' grandchild was inside that building and it was a terrifying 45 minutes before he was brought out by firemen. Nobody can be sure he was alright. We did a head count and managed to contact everybody so thankfully, our group is alright. I cannot say for others because many were caught inside. One girl was weeping away near me as she was so traumatized after escaping the blast. My friend's truck was caught in the blast and had one of his windows damaged. It was covered with glasses from the destroyed building. I kept a piece of the shattered glass for souvenir to remind me of this incident.
This model comes highly recommended by Thom Hogan but I am wondering whether I can use my current Nikon lenses through an adapter. It will be a shame if I have to sell all my lenses. I do not mind selling my D90 but not the lenses. The Nikon J1 is too pricey at the moment so the Olympus EP-Li is sufficient.
