I think you need to be more specific .... coz if it is due to Lick Hung parents shouting and screaming at their kids after exam results are out ...... it is a 4 times a year occurance (4 exams per year) ....

Check if anyone in the neighbourhood is running a small "cottage industry" from the house like making fresh soya bean, fresh noodles, dim sum, fish balls .... things they need to sell fresh the next morning ....

I know that a lot of the hawkers told me that they do most of their prep work in those wee hours ....

How about old noisy air-cond compressor, every night produce loud noise, how to complaint?
I complaint to the neighbour and ask them to service their air-cond, they say no money, how?

If I'm not mistaken food is prepared in a house in USJ14 and brought to the wantan noddles stall at De Happyland. I have always seen the workers running into a house and bringing out fried wantan...maybe the charsiew too.

I have to admit that from time to time I do DIY with all sorts of power tools and they're noisy alright, but since I only do once a while and during broad daylight, I'm sure I'm not running foul with any law. It can't be worse than some neighbor doing total home renovation with drill and hacker noise being heard as early as 8am till 5pm.
Having said that, if some neighbor in a purely residential area doing some cottage business and creating irritating noise, I think they should be reported to authorities for disturbing the peace. Home is home and every resident is entitled to peace and quiet most of the time. Running some industry where noise is created and irritating other neighbors is wrong.

in ss17 it comes in the form of loud, irritating even antagonistic screamin' sermons from the mosque delivered thru its 8-10 loud hailers. This type of screamin' sermon delivery on 'whatever the subject' is different from the soothing call of Azan.

Azan is usually delivered at a decent volume...whilst some deafy-operators will adjust the volume dials to the max when it comes to sermon. Worst and irritating pollution also come from the frequent visits by Yang Berlawat VIP and the emcee will announce every single action & reaction made by this Yang Berlawat, e.g. YB tengah potong ribon...sila semua berdiri blahblahblah &^%$#@!!

I dont give a flying banana to what the Yang Belawatis doing there and have no iota of interest in him or his entourage!

I grew up in the land of lightning, surrounded by mosques and suraus, always listening to soothing Azan daily. It is always comforting, soothing and pleasant to the ears. Heck, even Tok Guru's sermon is delivered in a modest tone. I have never once felt irritated there in the under developed state...but in terra merra modern suban jaya???

Get this, No one is questioning the rights and practices of Islam. Nor I believe Allah is deaf to the din created. Allah can hear you even if you pray just in your heart. The niat must be good.

AND I would truly appreciate if any muslim member of the congregation here (?) can advise the mosque committee on this din. Assalamuallaikum.

Hello ungkb, May i know how you come to the conclusion that noise pollution start around 10pm? Can anyone pls help me wiz this one? Blurr vision and deafening ear's catching up on me liao! (sweat!!)

Using noise level monitoring device or observation of your electrical noise from TNB mains?
Or you put your ears on the ground to listen?

In otherwords, how you know noise pollution start around 10pm? Is it possible for me to carry out the same experiment to confirm your findings in another part of SJ and to confirm that the noise pollution exist in my area too?
