SAKAI attitude from teachers SRK USJ 12

Have been reading threads here and happy to know we have parents support groups for certain schools writing about problems and experiences... but wish to find out whether we have parents support groups for SRK (USJ 12)??

My child was beaten "slam on the shoulder" by a teacher apparently for not able to do his work correctly.
The problem is he was only in Kindy for 10 months and thats the only place he was expose to Bahasa Malaysia. I made initiative to speak to his teacher so that they can have more patience with him if there should be a language problem...

Last week i suspect my child has problems with his sight as he copied alot of wrong spellings from the board... brought him to Dr Yap in Taipan and certified due to being a premie, he will most likely develop short sightedness at a young age, and he is confirmed with shortsightedness with a power of 200. Went to specs shop to make him a pair of glasses.

Then today I was told by my son he do not like this school as teachers use to "slide books from afar" to them when they want to return their books. That teachers rolled up newspapers and slam at tables when the children are naughty. That he was beaten/slam hard (had him demo to me) at the shoulder due to doing wrong homework and that he couldn't understand BM. Later about 1/2 hr his nose bleed. I saw blood stain on his white shirt when I went to pick him but not sure this was the cause of the beating or not... that teacher gave me (parents) his timetable but all in shortform like:-
Monday - PER, BM, PIPM, BI, M3
Tuesday - BI, PJ, BM, MZ, BA
Wed - PIPM, PJ, BM, BI
Thurs - BM, M3, BI, PK, BSV, TASMIK
Fri - M3, DST, BI, BM
I wrote back to the teacher to clarify what all the short form stands for.

And that teacher wrote to me to leave all activity and exercise books at the class and timetable is to bring text books... I passed all request to my son to bring to the teacher twice but was return to him to bring back. Books were returned to him by "slamming the entire pile at his table and making an annoying twitching sound at him"!

I was given a form to fill in if I want my son to take up Chinese in school. I do and filled up as required but was returned with a letter telling me "anak anda tidak layak untuk mengambil Kelas Bahasa Cina"... I called the office to ask them what is the reason for not being layak... and they told me no reason. They do not write reasons.

This is only 1 month in school.... STD 1, SRK USJ 12.

Should we expect this kind of SAKAI attitude from teachers? Should we bear all this and keep quiet hoping that our children will not be picked in school if we make a complain?

Do we have a support group for this school? I need advice ...

My daughter is also in SK USJ12. Yes, there are some oddballs in the school but most of the teachers are quite OK.

If your son received a letter, it may be the one meant for POL which is on Friday from 3-5pm. There is another one which is BCSK (Bahasa Cina Sek Kebangsaan) which is held within the school hours and just after school hours. Anyhow you can approach Pn Zubidah the Guru Besar for clarification for reason of rejection. After the second last GB left, sadly, the following ones are lousy but Pn Z at least is not known to run away from parents unlike the previous longwinded numbskull (pls excuse my rudeness, she was truly truly inefficient and lousy). If the teacher mistreats the child, it is fair to let the GB know. There was a teacher who used to be quite physical in punishment and pretty harsh with his words too. I have known at least one parent who lodged a complain against this teacher.

Could you PM me the teacher's name so that I will see whether its the same teacher that has beaten my kid... If it is I wonder why the school is still keeping IT around after complains made and IT didn't change for the better.

I hope parents here can stand up and be united against SAKAI teachers as I had always believe physical punishment is not appropriate... I had never laid hands on my kid, we explain and reason with him from young. He turn out good and was even praised by his kindy teachers and Principal for being well-behave and a child with principals, honest and helpful. So I was truly shocked today knowing from my kid he was hit hard on his shoulders for doing his homework wrong for the 1st time and when he tells the teachers he is not good in BM hoping if teacher can explain in English so he knows what is exactly wrong until he deserve to be beaten, all was explained to him was a bunch of angry tones and words in BM again!!!

OMG!! Are teachers here so-call that anti-english!!! I even knew from my neighbour that a teacher from this same school also scolded her son for asking questions in english. 'Kalau tak tau tanya dalam BM jangan tanya!!!"

Sad and angry to hear such animals are still around in school, worst still in a primary school...

These morons are not fit from any aspect to be a teacher, academically and EQ.

They are there because of policy, not because of qualification, not because of they like the job...

I don’t see much you can do (sorry if I sound pessimistic). You fix one of these shit, there will be two more joining the school and loaming around..

I had given up on these schools even though I know I truly deserve the better facilities in this SK school from the tax I paid.

My sincere advice – forget this sk school which has no more respect due to the low class, low quality staff.

Bite your bullets thru other avenues – SRJK and private school, etc....

It is ok, the extra time and effort needed for SRJK, and extra money for good private school for the crucial 6 years elementary stage is worth for the kid..

Do you think I should do the same. I had even thought of putting him in a private school but the school fee alone not mentioning the extra curriculum is already so expensive. I was told it comes up to 16k-20k yearly only for the school fee not mentioning another 3k-5k for extra curriculum!
If only there's 1 private school that is those (1/2 govt 1/2 private type) with a fee like 8k-10k yearly, I would definately pack his bags and FLY out of this sick SK USJ12 faster than lightning speed! I don't even mind driving 20km to send him to and fro.

If anyone here should come across a school like that pls let me know ya.

I will go and confront the HM and the teacher, I will do iteven if it meant taking a risk. If he is being picked on again then I will change school with a complain written to the MOE and STAR and FB and all social media. I will try find and group together parents facing the same problem with this school to do the same at the same time.

EDUCATION here is truly going backwards and teacher quality is truly so LOW altho we do have some small numbers of good ones.....

I heard of a private school in kelana jaya called Sekolah Sri Nobel. You may want to enquire with them on the fees structure. If i'm not wrong the school is run by the same founder of the Fungates system.

Sorry to hear that your child had to go through such an experience. I suggest that you take a written letter of complaint stating all the facts when you see the HM. Hand it to her and get a copy acknowledged. Get them to also give you a written reply. These may be useful when you apply for a transfer.

Having said that, does not mean putting kids down with harshness is to not be condoned.
My daughter is in finishing in SK USJ12 soon and in her years there so far, there were hardly any issues other than with this one teacher who used to not give proper instructions and when work was presented he would shout at her till she cried. In fact I am at the school quite often to meet teachers during sport practices and activities and have met a fair number of the teachers. They are not a bad bunch. Don't give up because of one rotten egg. If you really want to leave, you can also consider SK USJ4 Seri Selangor. It is better organised. My older child did his primary years there and they planned their revisions so well that he didn't have to attend any tuition for his UPSR other than for BM.

Of course, in any institution there is always good and bad apples.

It is the culture, system, lack of sensitivity that irked me and these underlying issues had contributed to the present sad stage of sk school.

I think the best way is not to be a part of this substandard institution...It has been a known fact that these SK schools are dump site for those blessed ones who can’t make it further.

I certainly don’t want my kid to be a part of this instituition.

Just like any parents, you prefer your kid to pursue tertiary education in a reputable university, not in the biased and academically substandard uitm type of set-up.

Suggest CC TV camera to be install in every class room, then this kind of complaint can be trace back for investigation. Parents willing to pay extra for surveillance system to be install?

Oh yes, i am willing to pay for cctv but schools may not like this idea as it would be more work, more complains and so to say also because they know they have more unqualified teachers then good ones...
But I did made the complain and until now I do check with my son off and on how teachers treat the students and so far ok... hope mre parents dare to come upfront when they find unfairness and mistreatment because when we work together and be united, we do carry some weight when we speak!

I had just attended the SK USJ12 PIBG meeting and apparently the school is vying for the Sekolah Kluster whatnot title. Your complaints would probably carry more weight now as the Head is rather anxious that parents do not write to the press....

Yup, thats what I told her (HM) when I made the complain, I made it very polite but very serious about if it happen a 2nd time, I will not hesitate to bring this matter to MOE and the press as hitting a small child with petty mistakes do make an impact on them psycologically making them scare to attend school...

Just that after my complain, I guess the HM did her part. And the teacher still being unable to accept the correct way, went to my child and tell him "WAH, I NOT ONLY BEAT YOU ALONE BUT I GOT BEAT OTHER BOY ALSO!... DO YOU KNOW YOUR MOTHER CAME AND SCOLD ME??!!" Such ignorant and stubborn person, still think what she did is right. Thats what I meant, parents should stand up for their kid and listen to them more, its our kids we are talking about here, definately you are able to spot a lie or hanky panky, but if it unfairness then let the teachers know we are ever ready to stand by our kid!

And the teacher I am speaking about her is one who teaches moral and english...

Oh dear, now I remember. There was one lady teacher like that. She taught one of the subjects you mentioned. A friend of mine whose son had finished primary school now was given a hard time in her class. During the time she taught my child there were no run-ins but my friend told me this teacher's words to her child was quite harsh and he ended up throwing his small scissors at her because he was a rather introverted child and I guess she went a bit too far. As we go through moments in life, if we are not mindful of our thoughts and actions, then we also grow old ingrained with irrational behaviour, just like people who do not know the difference between being frank and rude and think they are being straightforward

You made a verbal or written complain..?

It is good to bring a written complain when you met the HM, ask her to acknowledge your complain or provide a written reply to your complain.

As you had mentioned, the culprit is still walk free with an arrogant attitide of what she did. Once the present HM is not around… whatever happened to your child will be forgotten and ignored..
