    Question

From the record, Steve Job has had been diagnosied with cancer for many years before his demise. Either, he has been seeking treatment of USD50,000 a pop or not, we knew that he has been on strict vegetarian diets. And definitely I can safely bet it has No MSG added and low salt. His famous quote was "stay hungry, stay foolish" and he was smart enough to stay alive longer with his food regime.

Cancer is simply the cell goes bad and affect the other cells in the body immune system. But then some individuals like Deng Xio Peng didnt died of lung cancer even though he is a cigar smoker. In fact, he outlive many people.

The surgeon which my brother was sent to for a endoscopy examination prior to the surgey done by Dato Suseela Nair at IPoh GH ironically died from the same causes of colon cancer! He was in his 50's.

I think its mostly about luck if one was to be striken with cancer. Sometimes people with a relatively 'clean' life are striken whilst those with a high risk lifestyle are not. Normally the first question they will ask is why me?

Yup, I once told a vegetarian colleague who is very particular and peculiar on food – you maybe the healthiest guy in the office but your chances of dying in SARs and Aedes, and car accident is the same like others…

Like i said its mostly luck and partly diet. So if we kena i guess its nasib. But it is very difficult for those who have been practising a healthy lifestyle to accept the fact.

Not like that. Its personal. If you think that by taking precautions works then by all means do it. Its all about peace of mind.

I know a grand person, a non-smoker, never touch even a drop of alcohol, seldom dined outside, worked 10hrs a day actively running her successful bizz, travelled the world over, involved in charity programs, had 2 handfuls of rowdy children and yet, prompted snatched by cancer at age 63!

Also a 40yr old socially active and macho guy. he played tennis 3x/wk, swam every morning. NEVER had any food court hawker food let alone street food, non-smoker, non-drinker, drove fast cars, active and wellknown in motor racing circuit suffered and died at his prime...

Yet another 41yr old senior cop-buddy, fit as any EPL footballer...ok he smoked and he drank. A party animal and one of the bestest friends ever from primary school! Also snatched at his prime...

They all spent hundreds of $000s and it merely extend life by max 2-3yrs. Sad but true.

Yes, cut down and manage your risk of well-known documented proof of cancer inducing anything ingestible...but it aint a guarantee Its a russian roulette lah.

So, live a life for it can be painfully short. Peace.

Yup I agree we should not be too hung up about what we can/should eat or not eat. I don't fancy smoking but once in a blue moon a cigar with a glass of brandy is nice. Just like once a while a hokkien mee with a lot of pork cracklings would be heavenly but definitely not on a regular basis. I think its all about moderation. a shot or two of single malt I dont think will kill but maybe will kill the germs/viruses.

Everything In Moderation & Enjoy Yourself ....and when you do 'indulge' on occasion, enjoy it and never regret ....pointless blaming the 'chee yok char' in the Hokkien Mee you had last August for your woes....you never will know... when it comes to what is 'good or bad',...its all guess work...plus some 'money' involved with 'who's recommending what'?

    See this Below:

In Sept 2011, BBC Health said:
"A drink a day 'is good for older women's health"...[also read that for Men, it's 2 a day]

"Women who enjoy an alcoholic drink in the evening tend to be healthier....This nightcap could be a pint of beer, a glass of wine or a single measure of spirit, PLoS Medicine journal reports.......And women who drank on 5-7 days of the week had almost double the chance of good overall health in old age".....READ FULL ARTICLE HERE

BUT, back in 2009, they wrote: > Drink a day 'raises cancer risk'

"A glass of wine each evening is enough to increase your risk of developing cancer, women are being warned.

Consuming just one drink a day causes an extra 7,000 cancer cases - mostly breast cancer - in UK women each year, Cancer Research UK scientists suggest.....The risk goes up the more you drink, whether spirits, wine or beer, the data on over a million women suggests.

Overall, alcohol is to blame for about 13% of breast, liver, rectum, mouth and throat cancers, the researchers say"....READ MORE HERE

So what this means is....Drinking 1-2 spirits a day is good for your Heart...BUT sorry, you will increase your chances of Cancer ....GO FIGURE!

There are so many types and causes (with many unknown) of cancer that anything claiming to cure all types of cancer should be taken with a pinch of salt or more. However the two known and avoidable causes would be smoking and alcohol so it would be sensible to avoid them.
