I think I don't have to explain how their vested interests will WRECK and DESTROY whatever personal future I have left and planned for.
EPF nearly WRECKED my home purchase 12 years ago due to sudden unofficial WHIM to change a certain withdrawal policy. I got it through after some sweet talk and logical appeal.
If they could do that back then, they're never to be forgiven if they change a major policy thats NOT in the best interest to EVERY contributor! PERIOD!

ITS MY MONEY, MY HARD EARD MONEY in question, NEVER THEIRS TO MANIPULATE at their whim!

The regime have ENOUGH DIRTY FILTHY FINGERS in every pie that control and corner one's life! Still tell me not to disown them!

I am fully supportive of raising the retirement age to 60. I will also like a proviso that optional retirement is allowed anytime after 55 years old, with 6 months to one year notice given to the employer. That way, those who want to work until 60 can do so. And those who want to retire early can also do so. Nowadays many are marrying late and their children are entering college when they are aged 55 years old. Some of my friends are in this dilemma. For people like them, 60 is a good retirement age.

p/s I also SOKONG those who wanna work after 55yrs old BETTER yet if any potential or heaven forbids, failing health issues are medically borne by the philanthropy-employer...HAHAHAHA! but how many private co will take this potentially bottom line damaging ri$k?? If i was a terra merra boss of a co, i wont take the risk except for the vvv healthy 60s, 70s or even 80s!. and that too on yearly contract, with a 24hr medical exit clause, for $afe measure! Harsh? U bet!

Err Buddies...with so many MNC moved or in the midst of moving out of the country...
coupled with many other corporations NOT eying the country as a good place to build their nests to lay their eggs...
also with many companies sizing down or going belly up...
there are less n going to be much lesser job opportunities for the younger generations...

PLUS n all the other Road Toll concessionaires for examples...
should only employ older...partially impaired or handicapped n still able retirees to work in toll booths...
Why are the younger generations n "well educated" being employed in there...to begin with?

Many younger generations are more keen to learn the trade to start doing business like opening up Telco n cell phone kiosks...
or selling contraband VCDs n stuffs...n breaking the laws whilst risking being arrested(may be for better income?)...

    A lot more are jobless...

By raising the retirement age to 60 from 55 yo...
it is certainly a razor sharp double edged sword against working n retiring generations...in the country...
The 5 year gap increase is going to deprive many more younger generations of employment opportunities...
n career advancement...within the certain private companies n commercial organizations...

Pass the age of 55 these days...one can merely hope to peddle as a trader in Pasar malam or pagi...
or sell nasi lemak or pisang goreng...near to their homes...or drive a cab or a lorry for a living...
albeit facing stiffer competitions these days against the "visitors" or "tourists" from abroad...
(that made the ministry of tourism proud to release regularly from their colourful "official" figures n statistics...)

Orchi can't even hope to mow a lawn for a living...or scavenge the trash for recyclable stuffs in later years...
whilst these jobs opportunities were being monopolized by the foreigners...

    Thinking of becoming a beggar...?
Orchi would be shadowed by the "visiting" or "sight-seeing" beggars from China...

The ruling party isn't stepping up to contain the diseases in the country...
    they are spreading more virus...

I saw the epf advertisement . They have already started to 'advise' people to keep their money there at 55 or keep part of it for their 'own' future. However they would not stop anyone from withdrawing the full amount when they reach 55. That is for now. I think they will take it one step at a time to prevent people from taking the whole amount when they reach 55 for their 'own' protection.

I think EPF is afraid of a "RUSH" on the bank, if I may borrow the economic term of mass and panic withdrawals... I am sure there must be some intelligence reports from the ground level on people sentiments and I am sure EPF management team is fully aware of that...

I DON'T and NEVER TRUST EPF! They nearly played me out once! Changed some fine lines WITHOUT telling you and it was blatant and TOTAL DISREGARD for another common process that takes some definite time. How can you change policy in the middle of a common process? STOOOOOOOOPID, RESPECTLESS OAFS!!
Then the ONUS ON YOU to appeal, they consider and you wait in FEAR!
Gimme the chance to TAKE OUT MY MONEY NOW, I'll do it YESTERDAY!..and invest somewhere else for better returns!
They're NOT working hard enough to give you better dividends and bonus. Their overheads increase (new building, more staff, more operational expenditure, etc, etc) and its taken out of your diminishing dividends! Mau untung!... TARA LAH!... dream on! Malaysia for you all!
