There's a Taiwanese restaurant called Foong Lye in Sunway Pyramid's LG1 (facing the skating rink). The food is good. It started off in Gardens Mall. In KLCC, it has a halal version, if not mistaken called Kiki Taiwan Cuisine. Try it! It serves the best Three Cup Chicken that I have tried.

Three Cup Chicken is a literal translation from its Mandarin name "San Pei Ji". This is a popular dish that can be found in Taiwanese restaurant.

    From Wikipedia:

"The dish derives its name from the three cups of sauces required. For each chicken, a cup each of soy sauce, rice wine (usually mijiu although it may be mixed with Shaoxing jiu), and sesame oil are added."

I get very pissed with halal Chinese restaurant.. and will never eat this type of mutated food with my own money....

It is an insult and disguise to the authenticity of the food.

Rhiga, I too won't do Halal Chinese for any family luncheons or dinners but when having guests who wants to try chinese food & don't take pork, this is the only place.
Sigh! Even if they are `open minded' to non halal outlets and only eats seafoods, I would not try that here. I do want some peace of mind for my guest & myself.

Hi Rhiga, I know this is a necropost but I found your post quite interesting and would like to leave some words for you. Well, as your signature "哲人常樂,智者無憂" suggests, a wise man should always be optimistic if he wishes to live happily. Why not try changing your perspective, think of these "halal Chinese restaurants" as an alternative way to promote the Chinese culture to other races who have a religious obligation to follow. They may not cater solely to the Chinese palate but it's a good option for those who wish to try out something new. Not all halal Chinese food are distasteful, some restaurants have proved up to their names and even famous among the halal food bloggers. I think the Chinese people should take pride in that.

Last but not least, "halal Chinese food" does not define halal food because there are many great halal foods in the world. Just my thoughts.

Hi, did you mean the food at Kiki taiwan cuisine is good? it sounds like a plan that i should bring my friends to pay a visit over there. i wonder how would the 3 cups chicken taste like if there's no wine in it, would it be something like the Thai basil chicken?
