Have Buddhists ever started a war? Influenced a political party to war? Brainwashed a follower into blowing anything or anyone up?

I ask this as a genuine and serious question, i would like to know.

I don’t give a damn to what religion's restrictions on food, drinks and thought..

I believe in universal human values and based on my swallow understanding on religions, I found that Buddhism can accommodate many different values..

Life is short and uncertain due to unpredictable circumstances. I don’t believe a book written thousand years ago can be FULLY APPLICABLE in present days without taking into consdideration the changes/progress in human life..

My 2 cents in religion/belief and I will end here.

    Cheers
Well, if everyone thought and acted like this, the world would be a better place. No need for politicians or extremists.

What I like to say is Buddhist is not representative of Buddhism, based on their own level of understanding of the teaching of Buddhism, they may behave differently.

Questioning and learning here make no sense, none of us here are the "expert". BTW, some suggested that we should talk about the beef issue instead, I wonder who is the "beef expert" here to guide our discusssion?

In fact, we better stop discussing anything here at all, because I seriously doubt we have all those experts we needed here to say the final conclusion.
We don't have to be expert discussing the beef issue so don't try to be sarcastic. Its pure politics and you damn well know about ti so don't try and pretend to act innocent and make dumb comments like that.

And BTW if you are not happy there are people who accepted Buddhism as their holy guidance so be it. If you have the freaking right to your religion so have others so pls respect that!

Of course he will say he is not but let me say this openly... I have my suspicion he is a cybertrooper for you-know-who.... one of those recruited last year. One of those who will fan racial and religious issues for votes.

We should welcome politicians especially our elected representative like Low Burn Who to get our taxed monies worth. As I said, elected representative should be interacting with public forumers where they can know what is going on, what is our expectation of them, what we want them to do for the community.

Amazingly, I see a number of calls to have this closed and even from saga himself.

I do not fault Robert for what he did...In fact I stand behind his action. and by the way he also said "I am locking it up until Chang can decide" - that is because he can't issue bananas and he only has the "lock" to use. He is more sensitive and could see potential problems better than me. The reason I reopened it is to allow some of you to vent the extra steam and I see it has eventually cooled.

It does not matter what zing said about "right" to debate. Eventually, we the mod and admin will decide if the thread stays or not. I am not here to be popular. I have a job to do and I do it in the best way I can. It is never personal.

Furthermore, the discussions have already tangented out of topic. Time to go.
