I know! That's why I have to choose a day when I am not in a rush, so I can take my time to relish what's on the table, never mind if it takes an hour to arrive. . I simply have to try out the food here, at least once to see how good it really is. And be rest assured, I will also post some pictures, now that I have gotten rid of the ugly frog.

Recommended to a friend who lives close, but was totally unaware of it.

Being a Chicken Rice fan, he went yesterday....

    His email to me...

"Tried it today, the chicken rice taste good, especially the chilli with the rice. Kampong chicken (White) is 6.50 and roast chicken is 4.50.
The kampong chicken is the way to go. "

    So I'll be there soon

    Hi,

I went for my "kampung chicken" lunch at Ah Yoke's again and I told him what you said.

He told me that he is aware of the situation but he is too short-handed at the moment to rectify it. He has been searching for a helper or two for the last 3-4 months and to no avail. he mentioned that he is offering more than RM1,000 - 1,200 but no takers. he asked me if I can recommend anyone

As for the "tar-pau" customers being served first, he mentioned that he actually serves on a first-come-first-serve basis between the sit-down and tar-pau customers, except that when a person comes to "tar-pau", it is usually not for himself/herself BUT the whole OFFICE, so it is at least 6-8 packets per "tar-pau" hence, the impression that he takes forever - but he said he will take note and thank you for highlighting this "poor service" impression.

Yummy yummy...can't wait to try. Is it open daily? All day? How is it compared to USJ14 chicken rice sold at night?

Tried it today It is more a ginger flavoured type of chicken rice. I won't say it is on-par with the very best found in Singapore. However, you can consider it a good one in Klang Valley.

Apart from the rice, I really think the chicken of Lian Kee of USJ14 at night is better. That is solely my 2 cents.

    CM,
I've tried one before in S'pore. Its really good (my personal view la), rice is fragrant and fluffy but quite oily. The place is called Tian-Tian Hainanese Chicken rice. This place is famous in S'pore i think cos even the celebrity chef and host Anthony Bourdain eaten here and commended it!

More info & the address here: http://www.tiantianchickenrice.com/location.php

Tian Tian recommended by Best Mom is very good, The Maxwell foodcourt is actually very near to the MRT in Chinatown.

The other one that I would recommend would be Fook Seng but very hard to locate the place (in a residential area), u need a local to take you there.

The Boon Tong kee chain serves a `above std' type of Chicken rice, can also be easily located in its many outlets http://www.boontongkee.com.sg/

For Chatterbox at Mandarin, very overpriced at over S$30 now for a single serving...u can find the same std in many hawker stalls around the island.
