Hmmm ... must admit that I did not pay too much attention to the decor as long as it is clean and hygenic ... I will have a look again when I go for dinner this weekend

    OIC ....

I thought you meant, the chairs and tables were so "lau-beh" and sub-standard that BMWs/Merc crowd would not patronise the place - like that, NO PROBLEM lah ... I thought I missed something

Lucky thing Jan is good at damage control! .

Funny, I haven't noticed this restaurant before though I go to Parkway quite often for the ckt. Must keep an eye out for it.

Parkway Tai Chow have moved to this premise now

    Hi All,

Just for your info. This fish shop is now being taken over by the Parkway Tai Chow. The si tao poh told me they will (have) move(d) on 11/4/12. Apparently the Parkway boss increase their rent as what she claimed la.

Had my dinner at their new premise yesterday...its smaller no doubt but food wise still the same. Tasty and cheap. The place is air-conditioned and somewhat cleaner i feel compared to Parkway. Oh btw, this tai chow now has a new name to go by but forgot to note it down

For the similar amount of food at the other tai-chows nearby, I will be paying close to RM35-40 for the fish and overall, the bill will be around RM20- more !!
For info, my son started his own small patin farm in Temerloh since this year. Its bred in the bank of Sungei Semantan (this river flow onwards and meet Sungei Pahang at Temerloh town), off the main road going to Jerantut or not far from the Temerloh toll plaza. The wholesale price for patin from the farm is about RM11-14/kg. The quality of fish feed is the killer expense, couple of hundred bucks worth a day. The best Patin is supposidely from Temerloh area. I understand its managed and bred differently in Pekan Pahang, which some say it doesn't taste the same as from Temerloh.
Of course restaurant prices will be much much higher.

These are pond patin fish, commercially bred. It is sold for about RM4 per kilo at Carrefour. I like patin because the flesh is smooth. River patin can cost until RM100.00 per kilo in some restaurants. River patin has less fats. Pond patin is full of fat so if you like fish fat in the stomach, patin is the best.
